Chapter 429 - The Mother Who Sets Up Her Own Son
Aunt Wu immediately brought over a bowl of ginger tea. Yan Qingsi cupped it and drank slowly. A few sips later she could feel her stomach warmed up almost instantaneously. Gradually, her body began heating up too.
Yue Tingfeng went downstairs. Upon seeing an absence of his share, he asked, “Ma, what about me?”
Mrs. Yue asked, “What about you?”
Yue Tingfeng pointed at Yan Qingsi’s ginger tea. “Where’s my share?”
Mrs. Yue simply blinked. “Ginger tea... is usually given to women to get rid of the cold. You want it too?”
Yue Tingfeng felt like vomiting blood at that instant. “Ma, am I... am I not your son?”
He and Yan Qingsi were both drenched by rainwater but Yan Qingsi had his jacket on her. He was more drenched compared to Yan Qingsi but his mother did not prepare anything for him.
Mrs. Yue sighed. “I wish that you weren’t but the reality is harsh sometimes.”
Yue Tingfeng covered his face. At that moment, he did not know what else to say.
His biological mother... She was his biological mother.
Mrs. Yue felt that it was not right to treat her son that way. She thought for a moment and said, “If Qingsi’s done with it and there’s a couple of sips left, you can have some.”
Yue Tingfeng quietly turned away in solitude!
...
After dinner that evening, Yan Qingsi accompanied Mrs. Yue to watch the eight o’clock soap opera.
Not long later, Yan Qingsi fell soundly asleep. She had not had a proper night’s sleep in two days, hence why once she relaxed, she fell asleep incredibly quickly.
Mrs. Yue urged her to go up and sleep.
When Yan Qingsi went up, Mrs. Yue called Yue Tingfeng over and went into the kitchen suspiciously. She carried out a bowl of soup and said, “My son, don’t accuse your mom of biasness. Here, drink this.”
Yue Tingfeng frowned. “Ma, what’s this?”
Mrs. Yue rushed him. “You don’t need to care what it is. Will your mom do anything to harm you? Come on, drink up.”
Yue Tingfeng took a whiff and found that it smelled like some Chinese medicine, although it was quite fragrant to say the least. Yue Tingfeng thought the same thought, ‘His own mother wouldn’t do anything to harm him, right?’
Under Mrs. Yue’s eager expectations, Yue Tingfeng sipped two mouthfuls and proceeded to drink the entire bowl.
Mrs. Yue took the empty bowl and patted her son on the shoulder. “Alright. Now go upstairs, my son. Mama’s taken care of you.”
Yue Tingfeng was rather confused. “Ma, what do you mean?”
Mrs. Yue looked at her son, seemingly with an expression of resentfulness that his son did not live up to her expectation. “My silly son, Mama treated you so well but you still don’t understand. Go up now and look for Qingsi.”
“Oh, I’ll go now.” Yue Tingfeng went up, having made the decision to look for Qingsi right from the start.
Mrs. Yue handed the bowl to Aunt Wu and mumbled softly, “This kidney-nourishing 1 soup is so expensive, it should be effective, right?”
All of sudden, Yue Tingfeng’s voice sounded from behind. “Ma, what did you say?”
Mrs. Yue was given quite a fright. She turned around, saw Yue Tingfeng, and had no idea when he came back down.
Mrs. Yue shook her head violently. “Nothing! Did I say anything?”
Yue Tingfeng narrowed his eyes and said, “Ma... I notice you’ve learned some bad things. Sigh, you used to be such a kind old lady, when did you become so devious?”
Mrs. Yue extended her hand and pulled Yue Tingfeng’s ear. “You little brat. Am I not doing this for your own good? Isn’t this me wanting you to work a bit harder tonight and hit the jackpot 1? Otherwise you’ll be waiting donkey years to get that woman married into the home.”
She lowered her voice and said, “I specifically asked for this. This isn’t only an aphrodisiac, it’ll increase your fertility too.”
Yue Tingfeng was really going to vomit blood. No one else in the entire world could set him up in the way his own mother did.
