Chapter 242 - 242 Difficult to Meet
Knock! Knock! Knock!
Aethelwolf went to open the door himself and saw Rendell waiting outside.
“Sir Aethelwolf, I’ve already sent someone to the Urgel Household. Also, the plot of land that you want me to buy is already under the Lassiter Household’s name. Do you want to personally inspect the area?” Rendell bought a plot of land according to Aethelwolf’s arrangement. He didn’t know why his boss was suddenly interested in an uncultivated land, but he knew that it wasn’t his place to pry.
Hearing this, Aethelwolf’s eyes lit up. That place would be the future training camp of his secret army so he placed a great deal of importance on it.
“Good! Take me there. Summon our most skilled architects and engineers, but you have to make sure that they are trustworthy. ” Aethelwolf said with a hint of impatience. He only had about two months to prepare everything so he didn’t want to waste any time.
Rendell sensed the urgency in his tone so he immediately nodded his head. “Yes, Sir Aethelwolf!”
After Rendell left, he headed outside to look for his daughter.
“Papa!” The little girl excitedly ran towards him and jumped into his arms.
.....
“Did you miss me?” Aethelwolf smiled at her as he gently rubbed her head.
Olivia fiercely nodded her head.
“I will inspect our new land later. Do you want to come with me?” Aethelwolf wanted to bring her since the journey might be quite boring without her presence.
Hearing this, Olivia revealed a look of interest. “I want to go with you, but can we bring them with us?” She pointed at Hyacinth, Einar, Kerrin, and Alba. She had grown closer to them after spending more time together.
Aethelwolf followed her gaze and nodded his head. “Of course! Just tell them to prepare some snacks. We might stay there for a couple of hours.”
“Okay!” Olivia eagerly nodded her head. She then jumped out of his embrace and ran towards Hyacinth and the others to tell them the news.
He had to wait for another hour before everyone was done with their preparations. Aenwyn also came to say that she would go with them and Aethelwolf agreed right away.
Suddenly, two Level 3 guards arrived and walked up to him. One of them reported. “Sir Aethelwolf, a carriage of the Urgel Household has arrived. It is Young Miss Julie Irish and Young Miss Grace. They would be here in less than five minutes.”
Aethelwolf smirked when he heard the report. Julie Irish was truly quick.
“Alright. Escort them here.” He commanded the guards.
“Yes, Sir Aethelwolf!” The guards left after getting his command.
Soon, the figures Julie Irish and Grace entered his sights. Grace was wearing a beautiful blue dress, while her older sister was wearing a red dress. They both looked elegant in their dresses and Aethelwolf couldn’t help but be attracted by their appearance.
“You two look great!” He praised them with a smile.
Grace bowed politely at his words, while Julie Irish revealed a rare smile behind her veil.
“You are wearing something unique. Is that one of your designs?” Julie Irish asked while observing his clothes. She had never seen this kind of design and it looked elegant and refreshing.
“You guessed it right. It’s a new design and I made it, but this won’t be available in our clothing shop. I’m the only one who has this. I can send you a catalog and you can pick any design you want.” He snickered in his heart. It was just normal clothing in his old world, but it was certainly a rare product in the Regalis Continent.
“I’m looking forward to it. By the way, it seems like you guys are going somewhere. Where are you headed to?” Julie Irish asked while looking at the Aethelwolf. This guy was so busy that it was so difficult to meet him.
“I bought a piece of land and I want to inspect it. I know that you came here to discuss about the Maynard Household’s matter, but that would have to wait until I’m done with the inspection.” Aethelwolf said apologetically.
Julie Irish furrowed her eyebrows upon hearing his words. What kind of land could it be that it was even more important than his friend’s life? She walked closer to him and whispered. “I’m fine with that, but please keep in mind that Chris Maynard’s life is at risk here so you have to hurry.”
“I know. We won’t be gone for long. We’ll come back before midnight. I can let you and your sister stay in the mansion.” Aethelwolf answered with a calm look. He felt a bit guilty for dragging the time, but the welfare of his Lassiter Household was more important.
Julie Irish could only helplessly agree.
Aethelwolf brought them inside the mansion and helped them find two separate rooms. He then left after promising Julie that he would be back right away.
“Sir Aethelwolf, everyone is ready. We can leave now.” Rendell reported.
Aethelwolf nodded his head and said. “There’s no need to bring our guards since that would only make us eye-catching. Besides, Einar can take care of the trouble along the way.”
Rendell glanced at the stern-looking old man and nodded his head in agreement. According to the soldiers who had gone to the battlefield, the old man was so fierce that every swing of his sword could kill dozens of men! “Alright.” He muttered before he told the architects and engineers to enter the carriage.
This time, they only brought two carriages with them to avoid the suspicions of other people.
Rendell didn’t know why his boss was so secretive. He wondered what the land he recently bought would be used for.
