Chapter 168 - 168: Fighting for a Bracelet
All that was happening before her eyes was overturning Shen Wan’s established understanding at an astonishing rate. Where had things gone wrong?
Was it because Shen Qian’s skills four years ago weren’t up to par, not reaching the level she had witnessed in her previous life four years later? Or perhaps… was this bracelet simply too extraordinary?
“Shen Qian, don’t you have any shame!” Lushen’s unyielding attitude almost drove him to the brink of losing his temper.
“Likewise, Seventh Lord,” Shen Qian responded calmly.
“You!”
“I told you, I just want the bracelet.”
His infuriating response pushed Lushen over the edge, and he squinted his eyes with a cold, ruthless smile. “What if 1 insist on taking it today?”
At that moment, he finally displayed the demeanor befitting of the “Seventh Lord” – stern, icy, and resolute.
But Shen Qian didn’t flinch. “Then don’t blame me for behaving rudely.”
“Oh, you’re going to be rude?” Lushen chuckled as if he had heard the funniest joke. “How rude do you want to be?”
As soon as he finished speaking, a powerful fist came at him, carrying a gust of wind. It narrowly grazed Lushen’s nose, and had he not reacted quickly, that punch might have drawn blood.
“Shen Qian, you really have some guts!” Without a second thought, Lushen went straight to action.
“I told you, 1 just want the bracelet.”
“Fine, it’s your own fault if you get hurt or maimed!” Lushen took off his coat, unbuttoned his shirt collar and cuffs, and stepped forward aggressively.
The two of them began to brawl right there in the office, exchanging punches and kicks.
Shen Wan knew she couldn’t intervene, so she didn’t bother trying. She turned around, picked up the phone, and dialed the internal line. “Get security personnel up to the 26th floor.”
Five minutes later, four uniformed security guards separated the two men. At that point, Shen Qian’s mouth had a hint of red, and Lushen had bruised cheekbones. They were evenly matched; neither had the upper hand.
“I’ll beat you to death, you little punk!” After being dragged away by the security guards, Lushen couldn’t help but kick wildly.
Shen Qian raised a cold eye, wiped the bloodstains from the corner of his mouth, and called forth his two security guards at the same time, stepping back slightly to guard his position. They were employees hired by Mingda Group and had a clear understanding of whom they should assist.
Lushen had it rougher. He was the type who could hold his own in a fight, displaying proper moves and techniques. However, outnumbered and outmatched, he had already been subdued by two security guards, looking far from his confident self.
“Shen Qian, have the guts to continue this one-on-one!”
“I’m not interested in fighting,” Shen Qian replied, taking a couple of steps forward and reaching out to search Lushen’s pockets.
“You’re just a coward, relying on numbers!”
Shen Qian frowned and gestured to the two security guards. “Hold him.”
“Yes, sir!”
And so, not only did Lushen fail to get the bracelet, but he was also escorted away by the two security guards.
His angry gaze remained fixed on Shen Qian’s direction, catching the moment when Shen Qian shoved the “Ares Tears” into the hands of that woman.
Yes, he “shoved” it!
The woman clearly didn’t want it, judging by her furrowed brow. But Shen Qian was more assertive and didn’t give her the slightest chance to refuse.
Lushen’s heart sank.
What he desperately sought, others dismissed with indifference.
Good,very good!
Alright, Shen Qian? He’d remember this! This matter was far from over! And that woman, she actually called for help…
“Sir,” Chu Yujiang hesitated slightly, “1 think I saw the Seventh Lord.”
The man in the back seat, who had been resting with his eyes closed, suddenly opened them and looked out the window.
“Do you want me to help?” Lushen had been thrown out, and his clothes were wrinkled, and his hair was disheveled.
“First, go find out what happened.”
Chu Yujiang nodded and got out of the car, pushing the door open..
