Chapter 105 - 105: There’s Nothing For You
Cheng Yuqi noticed Bo Yi gazing at the company building while making a call, undoubtedly with Fang Yuan on the other end of the line. They had only just parted ways, and yet, they seemed so intimately connected. The sight was like a dagger to Cheng Yuqi’s heart, but she concealed her sadness and jealousy as she spoke, “Butler Zhao, let’s head back.”
“Yes,” Butler Zhao replied, equally astonished. He was struggling to come to terms with the rapid progression between Young Master Bo and Sixth Miss. It appeared that Lady Yuqi wouldn’t have any opportunity to intervene.
Before starting the car’s engine, Butler Zhao noticed Old Sir Bo’s car approaching from a distance. His eyes widened in surprise. “Lady Yuqi, that appears to be Old Sir Bo’s car.”
Cheng Yuqi raised her gaze and confirmed it. Could it be that Grandpa Bo had also come to visit Fang Yuan?
With this thought in mind, they parked the car at the company’s entrance. Butler Wen alighted from the vehicle and spotted Bo Yi standing there. He asked, taken aback, “Young Master, what brings you here?”
Bo Yi was unperturbed by his presence. “Did Grandpa ask you to come?”
“Yes, Old Sir specifically invited a renowned pastry chef from France to prepare afternoon tea for Young Madam.”
Butler Wen quickly retrieved the snacks from the car and apologized, “But… there’s none for you.”
“It’s alright,” Bo Yi replied, casting his eyes towards the company. As long as Yuanyuan liked it, he was content.
Butler Wen inquired, “Young Master, are you also here to deliver afternoon tea to Young Madam?”
Bo Yi nodded. “Yes.”
“In that case, am 1 too late?” Butler Wen felt a pang of regret. The afternoon tea had just been prepared by the hired pastry chef, crafted with the finest ingredients, and was meant as a token of Old Sir’s appreciation. If Young Madam had already consumed the tea sent by Young Master and was satiated, she might not have room for Old Sir’s portion. That would surely disappoint Old Sir deeply.
Just then, Butler Wen spotted a familiar figure emerging from the building. He hastily approached and respectfully presented her with the afternoon tea. “Young Madam, Old Sir requested that I deliver this to you.”
Fang Yuan extended her hand to accept the tea and offered a polite smile. “Please convey my gratitude to Grandpa.”
Butler Wen added, “Old Sir also hopes you’ll find time to visit him more frequently. He’s concerned about you overworking yourself and encourages you to rest more.”
Fang Yuan nodded. “I will.”
Butler Wen continued, “Additionally, Old Sir mentioned that the results of the college entrance examination will be available in a few days. If you have any interest in attending a school, whether it’s domestic or abroad, please don’t hesitate to inform him.”
Fang Yuan replied, “I appreciate that.”
Butler Wen went on, “Furthermore, if you ever encounter challenges at work or have any concerns in your life, you can always turn to Old Sir for assistance.”
Meanwhile, Bo Yi couldn’t help but curl his lips in a slightly bitter manner. He had been managing the Bo Corporation for three years without receiving an ounce of afternoon tea or a word of concern from Old Sir. In the past, when he was in school, even the smallest achievements wouldn’t prompt Old Sir to arrange anything for him. Now, he marveled at how generous Old Sir was to his granddaughter – in – law.
Fang Yuan, appreciative of the kind gestures, expressed, “Please convey my thanks to Grandpa.”
Standing tall and exuding an obedient yet composed aura, Fang Yuan appeared exceptionally beautiful.
Butler Wen assured her, “I’ll pass along your message. I won’t disturb your work any further.” He then glanced respectfully at Bo Yi and said, “Young Master, 1’11 take my leave.”
“Of course,” Bo Yi replied, acknowledging the need for privacy as he watched Butler Wen depart.
Fang Yuan, somewhat surprised, asked, “Why haven’t you left yet?”
Bo Yi reached out to gently touch her face, his smile filled with affection. “Perhaps it’s destiny. It seems that fate has brought us back together.”
Fang Yuan,”…”
Bo Yi suggested, “You should enjoy my afternoon tea first. Don’t feel obligated to have Grandpa’s.”
Fang Yuan,”….”
Bo Yi urged her, “Come on, go up.”
“Alright.” After Fang Yuan left, Bo Yi lingered for a moment before finally departing.
Cheng Yuqi, sitting in the car, was taken aback by the unexpected gesture from Grandpa Bo, who had asked Butler Wen to deliver afternoon tea.
Her anger flared, and she felt a surge of resentment. She noticed the lunch box that Butler Wen had brought, an unmistakable symbol of the renowned French pastry chef, Lester! Only when Lester personally crafted the pastries did they come in such exclusive packaging. These lunch boxes were rare, and given Lester’s reputation, they would cost at least seven figures to create just one.
Grandpa Bo had gone to the trouble of inviting Lester to prepare afternoon tea for an uneducated girl from the village. Cheng Yuqi couldn’t help but seethe with jealousy.
Butler Zhao, observing Cheng Yuqi’s distorted features and her seething anger, attempted to console her. “Lady Yuqi, please don’t dwell on it too much. Relationships often start like this, with a high degree of favorability. But as time goes on, conflicts and friction can arise.”
Cheng Yuqi clenched her fists, refusing to accept defeat. She couldn’t simply sit back and let things unfold as they were. With Bo Yi’s waning interest in her and Grandpa Bo maintaining a certain distance, she needed to take action.
