Chapter 660: Repent - Part 2
Chapter 660: Repent - Part 2
Joshua was dying to find out what had happened after Noah departed from the mansion and what he meant by that he was wrong.'What the fuck happened!!! Someone please fill in all the details I missed. I do not want to be left alone.' He cried and held his seat tight as impatience started to devour him slowly.
Joshua was not scared even though Noah was driving like a lunatic, he trusted his friend to keep him alive. He would not murder his friends, would he?
What pained him the most was the truth which he so badly wanted to find out. But Joshua did not have to courage to raise the topic and increase the tension again.
Not knowing what to do, he glanced at Ian, who was looking out of the window as though he did not care about anything in the world.
'Am I the only one who is dying of suspense here? Why does Ian look so calm and unaffected? Is he a monk or what? How irritating!!'
Joshua started to hurl all profanities he could think of that suited Ian at the moment and as if he could hear Joshua's thoughts, Ian turned around to face him right at the time the man was glaring at him, catching him in the act.
Joshua was dumbfounded and confused and he blinked at Ian, not knowing what to do.
'Why the fuck did you turn around? Are you a mind reader or what? You are as frightening as Noah. What kind of bad luck was I born with to have got such demons as my friends.' He cried, ignoring Ian's questioning gazes.
'I can never trust my friends. They are so intimidating. Only my Ivy can be trusted. So soft and amazing.'
Luck was on his side at that time and his phone right at that moment, saving him from Ian's probing gazes. Letting out a sigh and pointing at his phone with a grin, he picked it up.
'Ronnie, you saved me today. I hope you get the best girl in the world.' Joshua frowned when he realized that something was not right with his words. 'Wait, I have the best girl in the world. Nobody in this world is as good as Ivy and no one is better than her. Then, you can only settle for the next best girl.'
Blessing his savior with all his heart, Joshua picked up the call while Ian shook his head and rolled his eyes.
'Drama queen!!'
"Hello, Ronnie. Wassup?" Joshua greeted as though he was greeting his long-lost friend.
"Master Martin, I have some things to report to you and it is very important."
On noticing the seriousness in his voice, Joshua's smile disappeared and he instinctively looked at Noah, who at that moment was focused on driving. Joshua realized that they were close to their destination and in a few minutes, they would reach the twins' apartment.
"Something happened at the base, Master Martin," Ronnie stated and revealed all that had happened and all that Noah had done some time ago. And as Joshua continued to listen, his eyes widened in fright and he stared at Noah's head as though he was looking at a monster.
"I'll call you back, Ronnie," Joshua mumbled and gaped at Noah again, not knowing how to raise the topic. Whatever he had heard had made him feel incredulous and he could not help but be baffled.
'It was no wonder we could smell blood on him. What else would there be there other than blood? Ketchup?' Joshua's lips twitched at his own thoughts. 'Was Noah that agitated that he took it out on those men, not that I am pitying them? They deserved it. But why did he kill them this quickly? What made him react this way? Was it Oliver's words?'
Joshua could not make out the truth and finally, when he could not hold back anymore, he broke his silence. "Noah, what the hell did you do? Why did you kill those men?"
Ian's eyes immediately snapped to Joshua and raised his brows questioningly. "What men and who did Noah kill?"
"The men who tried to attack Aria, Ivy and Maggie yesterday," Joshua replied, maintaining his gaze on Noah. "Why did you kill them"
"Because they deserved death," Noah replied monotonously, not averting his eyes away from the road.
"What the fuck!!!" Joshua was exasperated and he raised his hands in annoyance. "I give up. I...give...up." He enunciated and leaned back and folded his hands. "It's like I am beating my head against a wall." He huffed and looked out of the window. But that did not mean he would let go of the matter. "Ian, you ask him."
"What happened, Noah? Why did you kill them all of a sudden?" Ian was the calmest among them and even though he too was puzzled to hear that Noah had killed them in a fit of his anger, he still did not react as Joshua did. Anyway, just as Noah stated, they deserved to die.
Noah remained silent. But Ian did not miss the change in his expression, albeit only for a brief moment.
"Was it due to what Mr. West said? Did you lose yourself to anger due to his words?" Ian probed, not waiting for Noah to answer him. But again, Noah remained silent and Ian's eyes narrowed when he recalled something.
"Wait a minute. Before we talk about this, tell me what you meant when you said that you were wrong?"
'Now, you got it right. This should have been your question previously.' Joshua, who was listening to their conversation from behind, thought to himself.
"Noah..." Ian did not stop and Joshua too focused on him, done throwing a tantrum to get Noah to speak.
Noah let out a sigh and clutched the steering wheel tight. "I was wrong previously. Without knowing the truth, I reacted drastically."
"What do you mean?"
"Mr. West was right all along. Grandpa was somehow involved with Charles and Jared."
