Chapter 98 Going Down With A Bang
The massive mountain of metal kept moving forward, propelled by blue waves radiating from its blue crystal wings. Its large glowing blue eyes were entirely focused on the small dragon. Its huge metallic body engraved with unknown letters all over its surface dwarfed the dragon manifold, making him feel small and weak.
\'This needs stronger firepower, but I never tested it.\'
The dragon once again opened his mouth, and the magical energy poured out through his body as a glowing orange circle formed in his mouth. Mana poured out of his throat and quickly formed a bright orange glowing sphere.
\'Now comes the hard part.\'
Vesuvius focused his whole mind, ready to dispel his spell at a moment of notice if something went wrong.
A square made of dozens of glowing magical symbols formed in his mouth, and then at that exact moment, the magical circle vanished, and the sphere of blazing hot magma moved forward.
A second different circle with a missing centre appeared around the magic square, creating the weird shape of the square in the ring.
Vesuvius quickly linked both of them, mana flowing from the square into the circle. At the same time, the magma sphere entered the square, quickly concentrating and turning into a brightly glowing spike of concentrated magma with a beautiful golden tint that looked like the sun\'s surface.
Then the circle around the square ignited, cracks spreading through its surface, \'Shit, this isn\'t very stable... as expected from this quickly stitched Frankenstein of spells.\'
Vesuvius focused his whole will, headache quickly growing as the circle started to tremble, the cracks in its surface quickly spreading, causing the mana to leak.
A magical symbol started to orbit around the spike, glowing in bright orange light and blending with the also glowing orange surface of the spike.
The cracks were growing as more and more symbols got imprinted on the spike, magical energy flowing into them and their glow intensifying.
\'Come on, just last a little bit longer!\'
The last symbol got engraved, and Vesuvius immediately released the spell. The leaked mana was stabbing through his head like a needle, but he had no time for the pain as he ground his teeth and his reptilian eyes locked with the orange-gold trail left by the magma spike.
The spike glowing in gold orange with magical symbols orbiting around it blasted through the air, moving at a terrifying speed, screeching as it pierced through the air.
The metallic giant stopped, its blue eyes catching a glimpse of orange as it made a slight move, moving its core out of the way of the incoming magma spike.
The magma spike hit against the thick metallic armour, drilling through it as it melted through the layers of metal, and then a loud bang shook the giant. Its front metallic plate bulged out, turning red from the heat.
Its large metallic body staggered, the blue crystal wings on its back flickering as it fell to the ground, the huge mass of metal sliding through the soft soil, leaving devastation behind.
The headache already subsided, the dragon\'s rationality returning, \'No XP... that means that it is alive, but at least the explosion inside of it had to cause some damage.\'
The large metallic construct on the ground twitched, pushing its large metallic arms against the ground as it slowly lifted up. One of its eyes was dark without any glow and with its large crystal wings only weakly pulsing.
Suddenly the large metallic sphere in its chest pulsed in extremely bright blue light like a sun, the blue light spreading and covering the whole grasslands.
Vesuvius felt alarmed as he flapped his large wings, quickly rising up towards the pitch black sky while distancing from the colossus.
Vesuvius immediately shed his amour, having a premonition that what he needed to survive was speed and that his armour would be useless to him if he didn\'t manage to escape in time. The heavy black volcanic stone fell from his body, making craters in the ground.
Without the large weight of armour slowing him down, he launched forwards at an incredible speed, winds around pushing him with more eagerness than usual.
His instincts screamed with the death as he turned his long neck backwards to look at what was happening.
The blue sphere started to crack, large beams of blue light radiating out of it like a laser show.
\'Damn, why can\'t you die without a bang...\'
The dragon kept flapping his wings as fast as he could. If he had sweat glands, he would be covered in sweat.
Suddenly a loud crack echoed through the dungeon, causing the dragon to flinch. A split second later, the blue core exploded, and a massive blue mushroom of blue plasma rose to the sky. A large shockwave swept across the plains. All of the mechs and grass evaporated from the immense radiation.
The wave hit the dragon that was already far away, and a bubble of magma quickly grew around him and blocked the wave for a split second before vanishing. However, the blue wave kept radiating, bathing the dragon in a weird feeling, all of his scales itching with the runes on them glowing extremely bright.
The blue light kept radiating as if a supernova had exploded, painting everything in blue, and the itch soon turned into a pinching all over his body.
Then finally, the blue light vanished, and the dragon breathed out flames in relief, \'I just hope that dragons can\'t get cancer...\'
Vesuvius finally turned towards the ground, seeing a large black crater with large circles of burned grassland sprawling in a large radius.
\'Once again, system... this explosion isn\'t definitely anything in level thirty range. How can any party of even level forty survive something like this...\'

Vesuvius was officially shocked, \'How...? But I guess mistakes can happen, especially when evaluating giant robots from whoever knows what dimension.\'
