Chapter 565 565. STORMS
Noah appeared high in the sky, above the hill the building they reclined in was. Erolia stood in the skies with him, her features still bright. Noah didn't worry though, even if he could, he'd have no reason for such.
Erolia still had a level of intelligence that would far surpass those her age.
"Let's go," Noah announced sprinting forward. His departure caught Erolia by surprise, and the sonic boom he unleashed sent her barreling backward. The force remained remarkable.
A wide grin appeared on her face as she stabilized herself in the sky, then she propelled herself forward, shattering the sound barrier to disappear from that place.
Erolia had been almost 2 seconds slower than Noah, so when the city appeared in her sight, Noah had to grab onto her to descend. This happened in about the same period as an instant.
Shocked and stunned by the sheer difference in speed, Erolia blinked to find tall trees all around her.
"There are tier four's guarding the city's entrance," Noah explained landing on a tree branch. The vegetation around them was nothing short of humongous. The trees were solid and tall. Even the level of those trees was already in the third tier.
Erolia nodded, allowing her astonishment to fade quickly. She had to accept that her master could still shock her with his normal attributes.
Having held her in his arms Noah ascended until he arrived at the top of the tree. He let her go to scan the area.
The city being a few kilometers from their position already revealed its sheer size.
Right before its huge black walls was a clearing about a kilometer away from those tall walls,
Even from there, Noah could see different paths coming out of the woods to stretch toward the city's wide gates.
Carriages rolled in while individuals on foot had to stand in a line.
'There are more tier fours here than I expected,' Noah remarked inwardly, finding that more than seventy percent of those who lined up to enter the city were in the fourth tier. Times of hardship really did produce individuals with power.
"It's a hub for fourth-tier experts," Noah spoke, addressing Erolia who had come to the same conclusion. Seeing Noah solemn made her also take their expedition seriously.
"We should be able to fly past them right? We're fast enough," Erolia suggested and Noah could not refute her words.
The entrance into the city was literally wide open, there was even a slight elevation of what looked like metal right at its entrance. To get into the city one would hike that chunk of metal. It didn't look difficult, however.
"There also doesn't seem to be anything scanning anyone," Noah muttered already finding a solution.
"Still…" Erolia utilized her head. "We might be too obvious. Our movements aren't exactly silent." She gave a slightly helpless smile.
"I can reduce the sound of my sprint, but you can't. You only just got this body after all," Noah explained, and she nodded.
"In that case, you have to cause a commotion," Noah announced, and she considered it.
"You're limiting your influence as a thunderbird right?" Noah spoke, still having his eyes on the city.
"Yes…" Erolia responded, already worried.
"Impressive. But I'll need you to let it go." Noah turned to focus on her at that point, she furrowed her brows but didn't protest.
"I can end up destroying this environment, ma- Noah," she stuttered a bit. Noah had already told her to not call him master. He found it too revealing and didn't want to bother her. He'd rather she called him brother, or just Noah.
"I know. But when we gain their attention you can just retain your hold on that ability. Let them wonder why a storm suddenly sprung up from thin air," Noah explained, shrugging.
Erolia found no way out at that point, and she understood what her actions would achieve, she would be able to fly at full speeds without worrying about being noticed. She felt pretty certain that her influence would touch the city even.
Straightening her back in increased concentration, Erolia closed her eyes to further gain more focus.
In truth, she had already had great skill for someone who had not even been a Thunderbird for two months.
She could already control the destruction her mere presence normally unleashed. That was similar to controlling a passive ability. Impressive.
The winds started to blow gradually. Now that she had changed into her human which neither drained stamina nor essence, Erolia found that her ability to concentrate on specific subjects of her power had increased.
She wasn't chunky anymore, even if phantom chunkiness still disturb her. She however, had enough evidence to fight that feeling and focus on letting go of her influence.
Noah watched the winds begin to grow violent as a dark rumbling cloud, or series of clouds unfolded above them in mere seconds.
This event darkened the skies of that region, as Erolia's influence could stretch for many kilometers around her.
Cold winds swept the regions, upsetting the trees, as the wheezing of the winds grew in intensity. Eventually turning into sky-shaking howls. Then raging roars.
By this point, the sudden event already alerted the officials at that gate, but they weren't moving just yet.
Noah saw Erolia suddenly flinch and she opened her eyes.
"That's it," she announced, even if calmness suddenly swept the lands. At least only for a second, since directly after that, tens of tornadoes descended from the sky to unleash chaos in the environment.
The event had been akin to an explosion as terrible shockwaves swept the regions announcing the new level of power at hand.
The huge clouds completely blocked the sunlight from touching the world below and the winds grew colder.
Noah related that scenery to the arrival of a storm on earth. But this would be in a league of its own. It could well decimate a city.
The skies trembled as the clouds rumbled with terrible power.
Soon, destruction was the order of the day and even Noah felt his instincts ring at that scenery. Erolia's small figure now emitted all the danger it could achieve. It would choke the average middle-stage cultivator.
During those moments of admiring her work, a rapidly expanding tornado neared their tree as chaos unfolded around them.
Those huge trees found their trunks being ripped from their profound roots to shoot toward the whirlwind which shredded them into nothingness.
"We should get going," Noah's tone remained calm even if the tall figures of what resembled hundreds of tornadoes existed all around them even in the distance. His hair didn't even flutter in the violent wind. Neither did Erolia's.
The sudden storm, or storms alerted those at that gate and they began to close it. Noah found that moment the right time, and together with Erolia, he sprinted forward to shoot past the gates opening.
The winds blew fiercely into that city, raising huge clouds of dust. Their passage had punched holes in those dusty clouds, but the fierceness of the winds quickly cleared those shreds of evidence.
To the shock of those individuals; less than a minute into the vast series of huge storms, everything suddenly vanished. And they were left wondering what exactly had happened.
