Chapter 484 484. EYE OF THE DEATH LORD
Thanks to the memories he gained from inheriting Ersha's blood, Noah realized the unique nature of the bodies of Speedlings.
Due to their unique disposition. Speedlings were naturally incapable of being hurt with mere physical attacks.
Their bodies were made from a special essence. Although there were variations and certain exceptions. For Noah who now held the title of an original Speedling that rule applied more to him.
Unless other things were at play, Noah would be immune to physical attacks.
Elemental attacks were capable of hurting him since they originated from the soul realm. But elemental attacks or physical attacks became even more potent when Soul energy was infused.
Upon arrival into the fourth tier. A new type of energy became available to humans. Soul energy.
A small but highly potent energy source that could be infused into both physical or elemental attacks.
Cultivators began the journey of increasing the potency and quantity of their Soul energy while also doing the same for their mana.
Soul energy was the higher manifestation of a person's will and experience. And due to this, it was in short created out of the very personality of the individual making it more powerful.
Hence the more of themselves an individual became, the more potent their soul energy became and the more power their full existence obtained.
Noah felt nigh numb to pain, and the truth wasn't far from that, his resistance had skyrocketed after becoming a Speedling.
The large gash that had opened on his chest closed quickly, however. It drained a significant portion of his core's content but the terrain around him shattered to reach his figure.
Unfortunately, it took a very large portion of mana to eventually reach the requirement set by the Speed force.
Technically all that mana needed was to reach a certain level of purity to be able to carry out basic functions in his body. But Speed essence was unmatched.
"What is that grin," The lady sounded alert when she laid eye on Noah's smile. It was cold and distant.
"Why didn't you dodge?" She asked eyeing his already healed chest. Noah remained unresponsive. He simply began to float.
"You're a freak. I have no words to classify what you are," she tried to target his emotions. How unlucky she was to arrive at such a time.
"That's a pitiful try at taunting me, human," Noah's cold smile grew as his aura silently surged.
"You say I'm a freak when you're the one hiding her face," His smile grew wider even if he felt no real emotions surging in his mind. Only coldness.
His words were sharp, he saw that her figure trembled after he voiced them, but she remained calm. Noah had started to become dangerous on the spot.
"From your words, heir of the god of speed I believe you're not human," she tried to lead the topic in a direction she wanted. Noah wouldn't let her, unfortunately.
"How would a lower existence such as you even know of that title? You make me want to know what's in that head of yours," Noah crouched in the air, while his aura surged.
"Let's kill each other already," he fell silent after those words. Noah sprinted forward at that point. His movement generated a silver streak far quicker than the lady could follow and the shattering of the sound barrier couldn't be any louder.
He arrived behind her, but she already expected such an event so she waved her spear toward his position.
"I'd like to see how strong you truly are," Noah's voice sent chills down her spine as her survival instincts kicked in.
Her spear fell on his figure. Or so she thought it did.
To her boundless shock, she found her weapon in his grip. But he had changed now, he had a battle armor on. A silver and black armor existed on his figure and it allowed him to withstand her red and green flames.
"You're not the only one with utility items. Muilix here is the best," Noah commented raising his left arm.
Cudgel slammed into his grip and he noticed the cosmetic changes his weapon had undergone.
Cudgel still featured gold and black as its basic color, but silver portions now existed. Its base size remained unchanged but it now radiated the level of an item within the fourth tier.
The appearance of his two soul bonds boosted Noah's prowess, but for the first time in the battle, and ever; he utilized the innate skill that came with the Death lord title.
[Eye of the Death Lord[Active]: An ability only those with the grand Title of Death Lords can possess. When activated your eyes gain the ability to see the Flare of Death, which measures; accurately, the chances a person has to die in a battle with you, the bigger the flare seen the smaller the chances, the smaller the flare the higher the chances. This ability also lets you see if a person has the same title as a Death lord]
[Cost: 10% of reserves every five seconds. 10% of overall stamina every second]
[Duration: N/A, Cool-down: N/A]
"Eye of the Death Lord," He muttered as time moved sluggishly to his perception.
His silver eyes suddenly saw black runes appearing on their delicate structure. The world lost its color and everything turned gray. Noah felt a significant portion of his reserve diminish at the activation, but he focused on what he wanted to see.
Understanding on how the skill worked, flowed into his powerful mind.
A black miasma suddenly appeared to originate out of the lady before him. It was relatively big, and the translation of that size became innate, he knew just exactly how big of a chance he had. In short, he would require a bit of work.
'She's strong enough to be considered 30% difficulty,' Noah thought to himself. Before immediately deactivating the skill.
The world regained its color and luster, and he didn't hesitate to slam Cudgel in her face. He sent her shattering the sound barrier while he allowed Cudgel to disappear and his two daggers to appear in his grip.
The events that followed were a complete demolition. Noah unveiled his terrifying power and prowess in an unforgiving method.
