Chapter 104 - 104: Harassment

Xia Xin hadn’t even recovered her composure when her phone rang again, displaying an unknown number. She answered the call cautiously, saying, “Hello?”

It was another passionate netizen on the line said, “Xia Xin, I can’t stand someone like you who relies on seduction to climb up in the entertainment industry. No matter what you do, I’ll boycott you! And you’d better stay away from Wan Wan. Not everyone is easy to mess with…”

Before the person could finish, Xia Xin hung up again. Xia Xin suspected her information had been leaked, and she was certain that Wu Jia was behind this.

Feeling extremely irritated, Xia Xin’s phone continued to ring incessantly. She decided to ignore all calls, as the pointless conversations were draining her energy. She powered off her phone, preferring not to see or hear any more of it. If Zhao Nan hadn’t instructed Xia Xin not to take any action, she would have loved to engage these people in a heated argument to defend herself. For now, Xia Xin could only keep her distance.

Xia Xin tossed her phone aside and slumped on the couch, lost in thought. She reflected on how foolish she had been to bring Wu Jia into her home. It was an act she now deeply regretted. Once this ordeal was over, Xia Xin was determined to make Wu Jia apologize to her personally.

Later in the evening, feeling hungry, Xia Xin decided to go to the supermarket to buy some snacks. While perusing the snack aisle, she overheard people whispering behind her.

“Isn’t that Xia Xin?”

“Yes, it’s her. She’s the one who schemed against Wan Wan and seduced the director. I heard the director is already married. She’s a homewrecker! She used her body to get ahead! She even kicked her friend out of her house. It’s disgusting to have someone like her in the neighborhood!”

Unable to endure it any longer, Xia Xin, her hand gripping a bag of potato chips, turned around to face the gossipers. She said firmly, “Do you know the truth about what happened? Spreading rumors here, do you have any idea how many people could be hurt because of your words?”

One of the gossipers retorted loudly, “If you dare to do it, don’t be afraid of others talking about it. Nowadays, even being a homewrecker, you dare to act so tough?”

Xia Xin stared coldly at these people and warned, “Think carefully before you speak. If you falsely accuse me, I will report you for defamation!”

The person was left speechless, staring at Xia Xin without saying another word.

Although Xia Xin had won the argument, more and more people were gathering around, and someone even picked up a mineral water bottle and threw it at her.

Instinctively, Xia Xin raised her hand to protect herself, but just as the bottle was about to hit her, someone grabbed her waist and pulled her aside, shielding her from the impact.

The water bottle was kicked aside, knocking over a display shelf and creating a mess.

With her heart pounding, Xia Xin found herself sheltered in the arms of a familiar person. When she looked up, she met a pair of dark, intense eyes.

Jing MO wore a mask and a cap, but the anger in his eyes couldn’t be concealed.

‘Why is he here?’ Xia Xin thought. She stood there, stunned, in Jing Mo’s embrace, as he led her out of the convenience store.

It wasn’t until they entered Xia Xin’s apartment complex that Jing MO finally let her go and carefully checked if she was injured.

Xia Xin smiled and bounced on her toes a couple of times, saying, “I’m fine. The water bottle didn’t hit me, and you arrived just in time.”

“Are you feeling regret that you didn’t get hit? Why did you go out alone at a time like this?!” Jing MO frowned and said.

Xia Xin rarely saw Jing MO this angry, so she obediently stayed silent.

Jing MO realized he had been too harsh with his words and softened his tone, saying, “I didn’t mean to snap at you; I apologize. But it’s just too dangerous for you to be out alone right now. If I hadn’t seen the trending topic and couldn’t reach you on the phone, guessing you might be in danger, I might have been too late to prevent you from getting hurt.”

Xia Xin looked up at Jing MO and asked, “So, did you come here just to find

Jing MO felt like Xia Xin was changing the subject and was so annoyed he wanted to flick her forehead.

Xia Xin anticipated Jing Mo’s reaction and quickly shielded her forehead, saying, “I didn’t expect that netizens would be so aggressive. They resort to violence so easily. Don’t be angry anymore. I promise I won’t go out alone in such situations in the future!”

Jing MO finally let the matter drop.

As they walked out of the elevator, they were shocked by what they saw: someone had splashed red paint on Xia Xin’s front door. Xia Xin stood there, stunned.. She hadn’t expected netizens to go this far, even finding her home address!
