Chapter 259 Until the Secret Revealed
Chapter 259 Until the Secret Revealed
The fastest dungeon raid could only be completed in three years. So that lie would work, plus it was a fact that Waldo was doing a dungeon raid, even if it was only one floor.
"That's not what I asked!" shouted Jane. "I know how much you love her, Rachel. How the heck did you still look fine while uttering a lie?"
"I don't feel fine at all! Every night, every time I went to bed, I couldn't stop thinking about my decisions that day! But in the end, I did all this for Lady!"
Amid their conversation, Allen's eyes fluttered open, gradually awakening from his deep, faint sleep. As his senses adjusted to his surroundings, he realized he was in a dimly lit room, lit by the faint glow of a flickering fireplace, and Rachel and Jane were talking beside him.
Feeling disoriented and slightly bewildered, Allen struggled to recall how he had ended up there. To his surprise, a voice emanated. "You're finally awake, too," said the woman. As if on cue, Allen's gaze shifted towards her figure, sitting just beyond the reach of the fire's gentle glow. It took his tired eyes a moment to focus, but recognition soon dawned upon him; she was none other than the elven girl he had encountered near the river earlier.
"Look ahead; your judgment has already begun. Don't worry about the human girl Felicia; she's still sleeping and won't awaken soon, so you're free to say ANYTHING you know to Jane."
Allen was actually more confused by this elf, who should know nothing about him. What did she know? What was she planning? And why was she sitting beside him? But he didn't even have time to think about it all because, the moment Allen woke up, Jane suddenly realized his presence.
-CLANK
Jane immediately approached him and tried to reach out to him but couldn't because they were chain-binding her.
"Miss Kethryllia! Why are you tying me up like this?! Let me kill that monster!" shouted Jane.
"There's no way I'm letting you off the hook after I saw you attempt to murder a fellow student in front of my own eyes," Kethryllia replied as she petted the white wolf that was as big as her body and sleeping in front of her.
'In front of my own eyes, she said,' Rachel thought. 'That means she saw everything from the beginning but still let Allen die. That meant something caught her attention, and she suddenly appeared and saved us. As I suspected, this school isn't completely white either.'
"But he's the one who killed my brother! I have to avenge him!"
"I don't care about that. Your points in the academy are not enough as payment for your deeds; they will reach negative numbers when you kill him. That's why I'm stopping you."
"Miss Kethryllia, as the victim party, do I have the right to release Miss Jane?" asked Rachel.
"That right should be with the boy who was stabbed." Kethryllia looked at Allen and asked.
"What do you think, Allen? If I give this key to her, maybe she will release Miss Jane, and then Jane will definitely kill you. Are you still going to let this servant receive the key?"
Allen bowed his head, and then he said.
"As Jane said, I was the one who killed her brother. And not just him; I've killed many people in the past.
So whatever Jane does to me, I should be the one who deserves it.
It's up to you."
"Are you sure?"
"Yes."
Jane's eyes were still fiery. She could finally vent the hatred she had been harboring there.
Rachel received the chain key, and then she approached Jane and unlocked the chain.
Right after Rachel opened the handcuff chain, Jane wasted no time and launched herself at Allen, who had another knife concealed in her upper thigh.
-THRUST
The knife she used this time was not the same as before; it was just an ordinary knife that she had secretly kept in case of emergencies. Therefore, it lacked the power to inflict a deep wound on Allen's abdomen.
However, despite its weakness, Jane still experienced a similar sensation when she plunged it into Allen's back earlier—albeit slightly softer, because she didn't stabbed Allen but Rachel.
"Rachel?!" Rachel had swiftly intervened and positioned herself between Jane and Allen in an attempt to shield Allen.
Startled, Jane immediately let go of her hand and stepped back.
"RACHEL!" shouted Allen.
"Don't move, Allen!" shouted Rachel.
Feeling the pain in her stomach and the blood flowing from the knife, Rachel tried to breathe regularly. In a heavy voice, she said,
"Miss Jane, is this the end of your anger?" Rachel asked.
"No way! Until I kill that child, this rage will never be extinguished! All you did was for nothing!"
"I know that... but I'm going to do it anyway. Because I am Lady Felicia's personal maid, I have given my body and soul to her. This is the embodiment of my loyalty, determination, and love for her," Rachel said, looking at Jane with eyes that looked weak from the pain but were also burning with determination.
Rachel, holding her knife-pierced stomach, knelt in front of Jane.
"Lady Felicia is a very fragile girl when it comes to Mr. Waldo. If she knew about his death, she would fall into despair. I don't want that to happen.
But, lately, she has started to cheer up even without Mr. Waldo, and I believe it's because she has Allen by her side, who has become a good friend to her."
"Don't crack a joke with me, you crazy..." Jane said. "How can you let someone who killed her fiancé be with her?! He's the one who killed him! He's the root of Miss Felicia's sadness! You shouldn't have let them be together!"
"Unfortunately, I only found out about that today..."
"Of course you only found out now. There's no way that monster would tell you something like that. He must have wanted to use Felicia for his own purposes."
"THAT'S NOT TRUE!" shouted Allen.
"Shut up you murderer! You have no right to say anything to me!"
"Miss Jane..." said Rachel. "Even though I made a mistake pairing Allen and Felicia, I still had no choice. You've seen it yourself, haven't you? How the Lady's face looked when she found out you tried to kill Allen."
She remembered it clearly, because that face pierced Jane's heart as if she were the evil one there.
Allen stood up and approached Rachel.
"What are you doing! Stop right there!" shouted Jane.
Allen did not stop; as he reached Rachel, Jane approached him and punched him in the face with all her might, but Allen remained silent,
He took the knife that stabbed Rachel, then drew a healing amnis "Angels who watch over us, please wrap her wounds with your love, ask for power from your god and flow into every cell of her body, and restore her so that she has the strength to serve you more."
As the wound closed, Allen pulled Jane's hand away, holding it in his.
"What the hell is this?"
"If you want to kill me with this knife, you have to stab me from the eye to my brain.
But, please, I don't want to die now.
Could you give me some time?"
"Wait?! I don't have time for that! I want to kill you immediately, chop up your body, and feed it to the pigs."
"Yes, that's fine.
You can do anything to my body later.
But for now, please let me go.
Please give me time to protect Felicia and time until Felicia can stand alone even after she finds out about Waldo's death."
Looking into Allen's eyes, Jane's anger boiled over. Because she saw his honest eyes, it made her feel that what she was about to do was wrong.
"I also beg you, Miss Jane." Rachel said while kowtowing. "I live with this lie; if you kill Allen, then I have no reason to maintain this lie anymore. So, before you do, please kill me first."
The determination of the two of them, trying to gnaw at it. Suddenly the overflowing anger had nowhere to go.
Jane started kneeling down while pulling her hair again. Then as she sat down, she hit the floor repeatedly.
"F*CK! SHIT! SHIT! SHIT! SHIT!" she shouted. The blow left her hand bloody and shattered, but even so she continued to hit.
"Why! Why are you suddenly change? Why... did brother Waldo have to die at the hands of someone like you!"
Jane looked at the two of them again, gripping the knife tightly this time.
Suddenly
-THRUST
She thrust the knife into Allen's eye.
"MISS JANE!" cried Rachel.
But Jane didn't stab him deeper. She withdrew the knife only damaging Allen's eye.
"I'll let you go this time," Jane said. Then she imagined Felicia, who used to smile with her, talking about how wonderful her brother was. "But, I'm not doing this for you. I'm doing this for Felicia."
"Thank you very much, Miss Jane," Rachel said.
"Allen, I'll take the same classes as you and keep an eye on you. If someday, the secret is revealed or you are about to be killed by someone, I swear, I will definitely kill you before it happens."
