Chapter 120 120. Grey wolf
Chapter 120 120. Grey wolf
The third talent may not be of as high a grade but in Lucius\'s mind it was just as ridiculous!
The ability to copy any item wasn\'t something that should be underestimated under any circumstance. It was a legitimate game breakingability that if used correctly could make people feel hopeless.
Lucius was now starting to realise just howserious his situation wasand just how delusional his father was!
This was just a Diana that still hadn\'t matured to reach her full potential but somewhere in the kingdom were five people of the heroic families all at the peak of their career!
Even Lucius with cheats and his future knowledge thought it would be hard to fight all of them. It was no wonderthat his father, Sirius, had sold his soul to devil and worked with demon lord . Without the power of the devil how were you ever supposed to deal with such monsters?
No wait, didn\'t the protagonist still end up doing it and dealing with all 5 of them in the end?
Fuck! Why is just one monster after another!
Lucius secretly cursed the wretched god that sent him here once again before his train of thought was suddenly interrupted.
"All of you gather here."
The commanding voice of Diana resounded through the Forrest leaving no chance for any of these arrogant mages and nobles to disobey.
Even if they didn\'t fear her strength and prowess the very status as the descendant of one of the great heroic families was something they could never hope to match I their lifetime.
"You\'ve done good work finding magical plantsand collecting data up till now." Said Diana
"But now you have to all separate andgather the specified magic plants marked o your individual map by separating into the Forrest."
As Diana said this the air in the surrounding forest seemed to freeze.
On the way here they had met no shortage of 3rd class and even a few 2nd class magical beasts. Before, There was no need to fear because the overwhelmingly powerful Diana was with them ready to blast apartany monsterthat dared attack them.If Diana didn\'t follow them and they were to run into a 2nd class monster of any kind, they could only end up as monster food. This was especially so for this group of mages that were primarily focused on research and creation. If it weren\'t for these conditions, how would it be possible for Nina who had absolutely horriblemage potential and was so timid that her combat ability was basically non existent
With this mind, a more timid member of the group couldn\'t help but raise his hand as he asked a question
"B-but if we separate we explore on our own, how are we supposed to protect ourselves from the monsters?"
Hearing this, Diana just smiled.
"Well, first of all, you won\'t be on your own. You\'ll be working in small groups to help each other. In addition to this I\'ll still be watching over you the entire time."
Hearing this, although the man who first asked the question was calmed down, he still had a question
"B-but how are you supposed to watch over us when we\'re all going to be hundreds of metres apart ?
Hearing this, Diana just buckled in response
"Haha! With me watching over you, 10 metered? 10 meterers? There\'s no difference.``
It was an outlandish statement but yet Diana didn\'t seem to be boasting.
She didn\'t speak with arrogance but instead a confidence from deep within her bones!
The aura was so overbearing that the timid mage didn\'t even dare question her again and could only nod meekly.
"All you have to do is raise one of the flares you have packed the moment you enter danger. After that you don\'t have to fear because me and my arrows will be there to save you ."
So, With Diana this confident, nobody could say anything in opposition and begun to separate intotheir groups
...
Several minutes later Lucius and Nina could be seen walking through the forest.
It had been a while since just Lucius and Nina had split off from the group and now Lucius has really gotten the chance to see Nina in her element.
Normally the girl appeared completely helpless and shy but when it and to research she transformed into a completely differentperson.
She moved with a sense of confidence and certainty that made Lucius\'s want to double back and make sure his eyes were still working, that\'s just how differ she was!
As Lucius was wavy hung and marvellingat Nina\'s new display, his ears suddenly twitched
"Howl!!"
Suddenly, there was a screeching bestial howl as a grey figure flashed out for the nearby forest, its salivating jaws snapping towards the helpless Nina!
But although the grey figure was fast, Lucius was even faster!
His sword was unsheathed in an instant, whistling through the air as it snaked its way forwards, landing perfectly on the assailants neck
"Howl!!!!"
The wolf let of a horrified screech as it\'s crimson blood splattered in the air
wolves head like a burst watermelon.
The tenacity of magic beasts was put o full display for Lucius to see as even with his sword firmly lodged in the magic beasts neck, It growled and squirmed desperately fighting on.
Unfortunately for this magic beast, Lucius was always one to double tap his monsters, so after wrapping his foot in a deep blue coating on mana, it crashed down like a hammer exploding the wolves head like a burst watermelon.
Lucius\'s eyes coldly swept across the butchered wolf corpse but he didn\'t lower his guard, instead his eyes narrowed even more.
Suddenly, Lucius foot slammed knot the ground as his figure flashed, quickly appearing by set of bushes
"Yelp-"
Before the wolf could even cry out properly Lucius\'s sword swung out in a beautiful arc splattering blood everywhere as the the head of the grey wolf was sent soaring knot the sky."
"Conniving and vicious beasts.." cursed Lucius quietly as he looked down on the dead wolf in ambush.
He may have been able to easily react Tj any grey wolf ambush but the same couldn\'t be said about Nina, as a result Lucius didn\'t even feel the slightest guilt for this blatant animal butchery
He walked away from the chaotic battleground, the bloodied grassand his now crimson sword and matching with his glowing crimson eyes to an almost poetic degree.
PerhapsifNina was a bit more militant, she would be able to admire the aesthetic beauty in the sight.
Unfortunately, the sight of mangled corpse and blood flying was still too much for Nina causing her to turn away without hesitation
Besides, currently, Lucius wasn\'t even looking for Nina\'s admiration, and was instead busy wiping down his sword with a disgruntled growl.
"Damn! These dam grey wolves! What does that make it now, 10? 15?"
Lucius finally understood why this whole expedition could be considered a form of punishment.
Before the group had split up , Lucius had already been relegated to the role of pack mule and was carrying the heavy magical and science equipment used by the entire group during their journey.
Things had gotten better after the group had split up as each person had to carry their own equipment promoting Lucius from his status as mule.
Unfortunately that\'s where the hood times ended.
The area they were given seemed to be particularly active when it came to magic beasts and was by far the place you could encounter these Greg wolves the most frequently.
This wouldn\'t be much of a problem if he had some teammates that could contribute to the fighting but since his only teammate was Nina, a pure non combatant, his time would be best spent confronting the continuous attack go grey wolves.
But if wasn\'t just all negatives, The one good thing about being with Nina was that due to her potionist and alchemist nature, there was no such thing as running out of mana potions so Lucius could fight fiercely whilst drinking mana potions like waterwhenever his mana reserves felt low
