Chapter 59 - 59: Insulted by Qi Wu
Chang Xun:
Was he being insulted?
Qi Wu actually insulted him!
Chang Xun experienced a whirlwind of emotions at that moment.
It was worth noting that before sending Qi Wu to join the contest, Chang Xun had always seen her as an obedient and cooperative talent he did not have to worry over.
Now, this obedient talent seemed to be showing a different side of herself.
Chang Xun could not say anything to Qi Wu, so he directed his frustration toward Song Qi. What kind of lousy program is this? You led my obedient talent astray!
Song Qi sneezed several times.
He frowned and looked at Qu Man beside him. “Is it late spring? I think I caught a cold.”
Qu Man glanced at him and casually remarked, “Maybe someone is bad mouthing you behind your back.”
Song Qi did not refute that.
Clearly, he agreed with that possibility.
After Shen Xi’s acting class ended, the two freeloaders were often seen
together.
In preparation for the upcoming selection that was happening in three days, Jiang Xuxu and the others requested a classroom so that the group could practice and prepare together.
Except for Tong Luo who had a packed schedule, even Tan Song and Jiang Yiran joined them.
They did not disturb each other and just practiced in their own little corner. Consequently, Qi Wu and Qin Jiayan, who were resting on some cushions along the wall, drew a lot of attention.
Jiang Xuxu had glanced at them more than once.
There was an unmistakable tinge of envy in her tone. “How nice to have one of the best players in the country to carry you. I want to play games in my stream too.”
Ke Lu could not help but look up upon hearing Jiang Xuxu’s words. “When you master this group dance, you can say that again.”
Jiang Xuxu’s enthusiasm instantly waned upon hearing Ke Lu’s orders. She wiped the sweat from her forehead and resolutely stood up. “There’s no way I’ll be defeated by a dance!”
Tan Song’s gaze occasionally drifted toward Qi Wu and the others.
Qi Wu was playing games with Qin Jiayan the entire time. She seemed at ease and had a faint smile on her lips.
The disappointment in Tan Song’s eyes intensified.
At that moment, Jiang Yiran, who had been observing Tan Song from behind, finally mustered the courage to approach.
“I have a question for you,” he said.
Tan Song turned around. Jiang Yiran was surprised by the emotions he could see in Tan Song’s eyes, but Tan Song quickly composed himself.
“What is it?”
As Jiang Yiran asked his question, his gaze shifted to look at Qi Wu.
Meanwhile, Qi Wu and Qin Jiayan, the center of attention, were not as relaxed as they seemed.
After two games, Qin Jiayan mentally prepared himself and finally broached the topic, “Qi Wu, did you tell GAL about my situation?”
Shortly after the livestream ended, Qin Jiayan received a message from GAL.
He was going to reject them again, but he noticed that they did not mention joining the team this time. Instead, they just asked for a chance.
GAL was one of the top teams in the country, and their interest meant they valued him.
Qin Jiayan could give up on his future, but he could not bear to decline a sincere offer from someone who treated him well.
Qi Wu raised her head and indifferently replied, “I don’t know about your situation. I just wanted them to understand you better as a person.”
Not just as one of the best players in the country.
Qin Jiayan froze.
After a long pause, he slowly said, “Thank you…”
He was not skilled at expressing his emotions with words, so he struggled to know what to say to Qi Wu.
However, he knew for a fact that he wanted to thank her.
She was coldly logical as if none of this concerned her. She was like the bright moon far beyond their reach, yet she always guided them.
Jiang Xuxu could not help but chime in just then.
“Aren’t you two going to play any more games?”
Qi Wu looked at her and asked, “Do you want to play too?”
“Of course, I want to play.”
Jiang Xuxu immediately responded.
She really wanted to throw herself into Qi Wu’s arms and vent her frustrations. However, she was sweating profusely, so she dropped the idea.
Hearing that, Qi Wu turned to Qin Jiayan and raised her chin slightly as if urging him. “It’s your turn to answer.”
“Hm?” Qin Jiayan was confused, but then he met Jiang Xuxu’s hopeful and pitiful gaze.
“Please? Carry me?”
Jiang Xuxu had a beautiful face that even more charming when framed by messy strands of hair that had fallen out during practice.
He immediately blushed and lowered his head. “0-0kay.”
Jiang Xuxu’s face lit up with a joyful smile. She threw her hand up in a gesture of victory and exclaimed, “Yay! I’m going to be carried by the best player around!”
However, Jiang Xuxu’s happiness was short-lived.
“Are you done resting yet?” Ke Lu coldly asked from behind Jiang Xuxu.
Jiang Xuxu’s shoulders instantly slumped.
She shrugged and said to Qi Wu, “My hardworking roommate is so scary. I really envy you.”
Ke Lu mercilessly called out, “You can rest if you can deliver a performance like Qi Wii.”
Jiang Xuxu turned around in shock.
Ke Lu had moved to stand right behind her without her noticing.
Jiang Xuxu immediately raised her hands in surrender. Then, afraid of Ke Lu’s scolding, she dejectedly scurried away.
Ke Lu glanced at Jiang Xuxu before turning around to silently hand Qi Wu a few pieces of wrapped milk bottle gums.
Qi Wu curiously examined the wrapped candy with cartoon illustrations.
“It’s milk-flavored candy,” Ke Lu briefly explained.
Then, she went back to her singing practice.
Qi Wu blinked and then looked at Qin Jiayan with the candies in her hand. “Do you want one?”
Qin Jiayan immediately shook his head.
He dared not eat them.
Not far away, Jiang Yiran finally figured out what was going on as he watched Tan Song grow more solemn and reserved.
Qi Wu… seemed to be ignoring them.
As he watched Tan Song focus on revising his melody and tuning his guitar, he realized there was a gloomy aura around Tan Song, leading Jiang Yiran to reluctantly call out, “Qi Wu.”
When Qi Wu looked over, Jiang Yiran sensed Tan Song sitting up straight and instantly snapping out of his funk.
He looked just like a student that suddenly became hardworking because his teacher was watching.
Jiang Yiran felt speechless.
He was at a loss for words from disbelief.
What turned Tan Song into this state?
As Qi Wu walked over, Tan Song’s face turned even more solemn.
“What is it?” Qi Wu asked.
Suppressing his frustration, Jiang Yiran asked, “What do you think of Tan
Song’s new song?”
Upon hearing that, Qi Wu approached Tan Song and began discussing the song with him.
Jiang Yiran would have immediately rolled his eyes if it were not for the situation they were in.
He was way too familiar with Tan Song’s current behavior.
When he had sought Tan Song’s guidance earlier, he had looked at Tan Song with the same kind of admiration and excitement, gazing at Tan Song like he hung the moon and the stars.
Still…
Jiang Yiran stared at Qi Wu with a strange look in his eyes.
What kind of witchcraft did she use to captivate everyone in this room?
