Chapter 258 Bad News - Auff!

The Overlord embarked on a perilous journey that spanned vast oceanic distances. With the swiftness befitting its majestic nature, it traversed the expanse from the Yan Kingdom's South China Sea to the waters where the dreaded "Shinan" had fallen victim to an enigmatic attacker.

Enveloped by anticipation, Bawang trod the ocean's expanse, meticulously scouring the seascape in pursuit of the legendary colossal crocodile rumoured to measure an astonishing 70 meters in length and weigh a staggering 500 to 600 tons. Endowed with extraordinary vision, Bawang surveyed the vast domain, its senses reaching far and wide, facilitating the search for the elusive behemoth.

A day elapsed with surprising haste as Bawang tirelessly combed through the nautical expanse spanning one to two hundred miles in all directions. Yet, despite its diligent efforts, no trace of the prodigious crocodile manifested itself—no semblance or whisper of its presence could be discerned.

"Master," Bawang conveyed with a tinge of disappointment, its message reaching the ears of Liu Yong, "it appears that our quarry may have departed this area. Despite an entire day spent scouring the vast expanses within a radius of one to two hundred nautical miles, there was no sign of its existence."

Regret tugged at Liu Yong's heartstrings as he responded to Bawang's report, "Alas, it seems this territory holds no trace of our sought-after target. It is possible that the creature has ventured elsewhere. You have toiled relentlessly, my faithful companion. Rest well, nourish yourself, and I shall reach out as soon as news surfaces."

"Very well, master," Bawang acknowledged, its hunger and weariness accentuated by the longing for respite. Swimming towards the bountiful shores of Australia, he covered hundreds of nautical miles in one uninterrupted surge, drawn by the allure of tropical fish that flourished in that coastal paradise.

A majestic yacht adorned the tranquil waters in the western expanse of the Pacific Ocean, approximately two to three hundred nautical miles northeast of Saipan. Its occupants, hailing from the affluent country of M, revelled in the throes of leisure, engaging in activities ranging from fishing to sunbathing and delightfully immersing themselves in the gentle embrace of the azure sea.

The crystalline waters beckoned, offering shining clarity, gentle caresses, and perfect weather. Laughter and joy punctuated the scene as several young souls frolicked and splashed about, their exuberance echoing throughout the waves. Among them, bikini-clad maidens added to the tapestry of vibrant delight.

"Theodore," called out a companion to a young man revelling in high spirits, "methinks it is prudent for you to surface lest a shark approaches."

Theodore, undeterred, rejected the notion vehemently, exclaiming, "Nay! Let us revel for yet another hour; the sheer comfort of being submerged in these waters is too exquisite to forsake."

One of Theodore's comrades voiced agreement, saying, "Indeed, let us not part from this aquatic paradise just yet. Fear not, for sharks shall not encroach upon these hallowed grounds, I assure you."

On the yacht, a middle-aged man, resignedly shaking his head, observed the proceedings, surrendering to the whims of the young revellers. He reclined upon a chair, sacrificing himself to the warm embrace of sunlight.

However, a mere ten minutes later, a startled cry erupted from the yacht, reverberating like a clarion call of distress. "Behold, what sight befalls our eyes!"

All gazes converged upon a singular point, their faces turning pallid with unadulterated terror, their cries of horror rending the calmness of the sea.

"Oh, merciful heavens, no, no!"

"Theodore, hasten your retreat, I implore you!"

In the near distance, an immense crocodile arose from the depths, its colossal frame, unlike anything they had ever conceived.

This was a behemoth of unimaginable proportions—a veritable terror incarnate. What exacerbated their plight was the creature's relentless advance, its colossal maw drawing nearer. Their panic-stricken voices filled the air, punctuated by frantic cries, as they swam with all their might toward the yacht, desperate to escape their impending doom.

The yacht's occupants, consumed by terror, shouted in dismay, their frenzied pleas urging their companions to clamber aboard. The distance between them and the vessel proved a formidable obstacle, necessitating precious moments for them to ascend to safety.

Meanwhile, the colossal crocodile outpaced their efforts, its relentless pursuit closing in swiftly. Its malevolence became increasingly palpable, its path unequivocally set upon the hapless swimmers.

The once-thrilled young souls were caught in a whirlwind of panic, their voices reduced to anguished wails as they fought against the relentless current. Shocked and distressed, the onlookers on the yacht frantically extended a ladder, imploring the stranded swimmers to ascend with all haste.

But their deliverance lay at a considerable distance, and time seemed an elusive luxury. The enormous crocodile, propelled by a speed surpassing their own, approached with terrifying swiftness, its gaze fixated upon its vulnerable quarry.

With a visceral display of violence, the crocodile unleashed a monstrous tail swipe, obliterating the yacht into fragments, disintegrating it as if it were naught but a plaything. Its enormous jaws loomed wide open, descending upon the wreckage, swallowing two or three unfortunate souls, including Theodore, in one fell gulp.

Screams of horror erupted from the yacht's occupants, their faces contorted in anguish and grief, bearing witness to the grim spectacle of the crocodile sating its insatiable hunger amidst the waters. No trace of the once-thriving group remained—only a handful of lifebuoys drifted upon the scarlet-tinged surface, a testament to the unfolding tragedy.

"Oh, no, no!"

"Damnation! It turns toward our vessel!"

The passengers aboard the yacht bellowed and shrieked, their fear-stricken gazes fixed upon the colossal crocodile that relentlessly approached. The monster, driven by a sinister hunger, moved with relentless purpose, its sights now set upon the yacht, caused by an addiction to devouring human flesh.

The moment of reckoning it had arrived.

With a single, monstrous bite, the yacht became a mere plaything in the crocodile's maw. Its formidable jaws cleaved through the vessel, rending it asunder. Splintered remnants tumbled into the abyss while some unfortunate souls clung to the yacht's railings, their terrified faces etched with despair.

Amidst the chaos, a lone middle-aged man swiftly seized a pistol, turning to face the enormous beast. Shots rang out, reverberating with futility against the crocodile's impenetrable skull. Magazine after magazine was emptied in a valiant but futile attempt to repel the massive predator.

The pistol's bullets, feeble against the creature's impervious hide, stoked its primal fury. With a violent lash of its colossal tail, the crocodile pulverized the remnants of the yacht, reducing it to mere rubble. It unleashed a final, devastating bite, obliterating the remnants of the vessel and vanquishing any vestiges of hope in its wake.

Meanwhile, Liu Yong sat in his study, digesting the harrowing news. As the images of destruction and carnage played across his television screen, a chilling thought gripped his mind—a clue that this gruesome spectacle could be the handiwork of one of the two colossal crocodiles he had encountered.

Stunned and unable to endure the news, Liu Yong sought solace within his study, his thoughts consumed by the unfolding events. Unfurling a large map on his desk, he meticulously traced the distance between the recent tragedy and the Ban Island area— approximately two thousand nautical miles.

The notion of one of the giant crocodiles traversing such vast expanses in a matter of days weighed heavily upon his mind. Their astonishing speed and formidable capabilities meant that they were capable of venturing into these distant waters.

Gathering his resolve, Liu Yong knew that action was necessary. He must summon his trusted companion, Overlord, to investigate the distressing events. Retrieving a world map, Liu Yong marked the approximate location of the recent incident and called upon Overlord, that had been basking in the sun on an uninhabited island.

Overlord roused from its slumber, responded dutifully to Liu Yong's call. Sensing the urgency in its Master's voice, it prepared to embark on a dangerous mission.

"Master, is there news concerning the crocodile?" Overlord queried, prepared to face the task at hand.

"Yes, it appears that one of the crocodiles may have appeared in the waters two or three hundred nautical miles northeast of Saipan Island," Liu Yong responded gravely. "You must exercise caution and prioritize your safety. If it happens to be the giant crocodile measuring one hundred meters in length, I strongly advise against engaging it for the time being."

Overlord assured his Master, "Master, I understand the gravity of the situation. I shall set forth immediately. Await my report."

The following day, with the break of dawn, Overlord arrived in the designated area after a night of relentless swimming. First, it tended to its voracious appetite, consuming a hearty breakfast to replenish its energy. Armed with its colossal spear, it set out to search the expanse of the sea.
