Chapter 430: Old friends meeting up
Chapter 430: Old friends meeting up
Eldrian didn't respond right away, his way into magic had been vastly different compared to everyone else. Hence, he had to think for a while.
"What does this prickle feel like?" Eldrian asked, "Does it change depending on the type of spell?"
"How-how did you know?"
Eldrian didn't go into that, rather he ignored her question and explained what he thought might work. "You should focus on the difference in what you feel. That should help you get a feel for the different elements. It is easier to start there, to get comfortable with the feeling until you can replicate it in your mind."
"At that point, you might just be able to force that feeling to happen, which I guess will be the first step."
"Guess?"
"My method... It was far more crude and harsh. I don't recommend trying to copy it, rather, just keep focusing on the prickle until you can start understanding it."
Nodding, Lizzy thought on it for a moment. Recalling that the biggest differences she had felt were between water and fire. The clearest was also fire. Bringing this up Eldrian shared his thoughts.
"You might have a stronger affinity with fire if you feel it that much clearer. But it is also one of the most reactive elements. Nature will be hard to get a feel for, it..." He paused as he thought about it. "It is just an energy."
"Water at least feels cool and soothing, fire feels like fire... Wind, the best description would be it feels free. Like it is trying to run free and without bounds..." Eldrian paused, "Sorry, those don't really help much, do they?"
Lizzy shook her head no, but added that she agreed with the fire one.
"Right, so start with trying to get used to how it feels and try to summon it yourself. The best course for this would be through Tier 0 spells." Eldrian suggested, not having better advice, unfortunately.
"Thanks," With that she turned around and started moving towards her car, Miracle having organized cars for each team or individual to the airport.
"One more thing!" Eldrian shouted, Lizzy stopping and turning to look at him, "If you succeed, please share how with everyone. The more people start sharing their experiences, the quicker we might be able to make a difference in the game."
Again she nodded, not saying anything more as she climbed into the car.
"I wonder if that was of any help?" Eldrian pondered, heading back up and taking the bag with a few sets of clothes with him. He was officially kicked out of the luxury room and he didn't mind it. It still felt alien to him, all that space and fancy furniture. It just wasn't him.
...
A few hours back, as Eldrian had just reached the forest of Avgi, two dwarven figures were floating in the air. One in rags, the other with a flaming beard.
"Are we going to go into Avgi?" Tovack asked.
"No, he should be fine. But keep Hrothgar and the others watching, I am also going to go and greet an old friend since I already made the trip. Please go back to Ganalin and ensure that Boran does not lose himself in slaughter."
Nodding, Tovack disappeared from sight, taking just a few minutes to return to the mountains. Naturally, these two hadn't been following Eldrian each day. That had been up to Hrothgar and those of his squad. They had just come now that his location had been confirmed.
Moving forward, Amnur stopped hiding his aura. As soon as he did a mini-sun appeared in the sky as the real blueish sun formed a sunset unique to this world.
Not much later, two alicorns flew out of the forest and appeared before the dwarf. Quickly taking their elven forms with bright smiles as they greeted an old friend. The beautiful couple was a sight to behold, especially when compared to the dwarf who on his best day could only be called average.
Amnur's appearance was fit for him, it was how one would imagine a smith, an appearance that told of his strength. There was no waste on trying to appear appealing. There was no use for such a thing, even if he could change his appearance, he saw no reason to waste the time and effort.
"Amnur, a wonderful surprise. I knew you were close, but not that would come for a visit." Agamemas said, stepping forward to give his old battle companion a bearhug. Zamia instead simply curtsied in the air.
"Nor did I, but the candidate I am protecting decided to come here."
"Oh, and who might that be?" The couple asked, both of them weren't legends. They were Tier 10 mythical creatures, Alicorns. While it was possible for an alicorn, dragon, and the like to become a legend, it was far rarer. Thus far only two had appeared through the entire history of Gaia, and there had only been thirteen candidates.
Compared to even just a single other race, like humans, it was clear just how much rarer it was. For humans had around 15 legends currently, and had thousands if not hundreds of thousands of candidates.
As such, the couple hadn't been privy to the messages from the gods. Though, even if they were legends they would likely have been excluded since most mythical creatures are neutral. Protecting their turf and only their turf.
"An elf, High Elf if you can believe it. Chosen too."
...
Eldrian logged back in as soon as he settled back into his old room. Enjoying the coziness of the place, and wondering how a cabin was going to fit in the room. It wouldn't, not unless they removed both his desk and the immersion chair.
Looking around at the lush green forest, Eldrian wondered if he had been spotted yet. Ember was nowhere to be seen, and that was to be expected. He had told the horse to go where he wanted after the hell he had put him through.
'Been a while,' Eldrian thought as he started walking through the trees and using mana sense to see what he had missed last time. It was a lot.
The mana in the air was like nothing he had ever seen before. He couldn't even see five meters (16ft) ahead if he used the Mana-Examination part of mana sense. And when using just the Observe and Inspect, he was still left astounded by the plants surrounding them.
Not everything was magical though, there was still an abundant amount of normal plants. Mostly in the form of brushes and grass though. The trees were all of Rank 2 or 3, with plenty of Rank 1 to 3 herbs and flowers everywhere.
'A goldmine, but not for me.' Eldrian thought, knowing that he had no idea how to make use of these plants and not wishing to damage the Alicorn's home.
Instead of harvesting plants, he kept on moving. Heading towards the glade. When he was halfway there, he heard childish laughter and the rustle of leaves. Not much later, a small girl probably around age 7 rushed through the bushes chasing Cephaphyr.
They both stopped upon seeing him, Akarui freezing in fear and Cephaphyr in shock. Awkwardly, Eldrian smiled to try and not scare the little girl who he assumed was Akarui.
