Chapter 195 The Wind

Peter Heisen knew Lei Zhen was not joking with his horrendous threat directed at his family.

And given that Lei Zhen was currently the closest one to him that could enact those acts, he could only choose to reveal their trading party.

"It was a neighboring tyrant country at the North of Althea, Barasack. Barasack is recently trying to expand its territories and is in need of weapons, so they contacted us for a trade. Their offers were too tempting to resist." Peter Heisen confessed weakly.

Lei Zhen once again faked a motion to glance at Candice who gave him the signal that it was the truth.

It seemed like his threat had worked wonders considering that Peter Heisen didn\'t have any second thoughts to give him false information.

Nevertheless, Lei Zhen would still give this information to the Athea country as goodwill to cross-examine the truth.

What Peter Heisen said might be the "truth" in his mind, but it could also not be the real "truth".

Getting up from his chair, Lei Zhen ordered some of his crewmen to give them a few healing potions so that they wouldn\'t sustain any more injuries from the wounds.

The reason why he allowed them to torture them harshly was because of the healing potions.

Healing potions are a wonder in this world in which even the most devastating injuries could be healed.

Though the better quality a healing potion was, the more expensive it gets.

Hence, not many could afford a high-quality one to heal their injuries, such as Emmanuel and his limping leg.

Sometime later, the crewmen gave Peter Heisen and the other people the lowest quality healing potions for them to heal.

It was already generous enough for them to offer them one to begin with, so Peter Heisen and the rest didn\'t dare to complain.

Meanwhile, Lei Zhen had already left the basement level and went to the Control Room to manage the other stuff.

"Hmm, the Barasack is actually quite close to Athea. I\'m surprised Peter has the nerve to even accept such a trade. Does he really think everyone\'s a fool and would be blindsided?" Lei Zhen muttered.

Choosing the peninsula in the middle of the sea was a smart decision, but Peter Heisen had committed an amateur mistake. He didn\'t account for the aftermath of such an arms deal.

Athea was able to remain neutral despite all these tyrannical countries nearby wasn\'t because of luck. But because they use their brains more than brawns.

And if Barasack, the tyrannical country suddenly received an influx of weapons, Athea would definitely get suspicious. When that happened, sooner or later, they would discover the tracks of Peter Heisen.

Overall, this arms deal was meant to fail from the get-go.

\'A momentary of greed led to his downfall. How unoriginal.\' Lei Zhen sneered inwardly.

Putting away the map, Lei Zhen turned around and noticed Candice merely standing at the sideline, almost as if she was some sort of maid waiting for their master.

"Is there something you want from me?" Lei Zhen asked, feeling slightly uncomfortable to have her staring at him.

"No, I\'m just here waiting for your orders. The ship is back to its normal state so there isn\'t a need for me to go around fixing some things." Candice shook her head and replied.

"Hmm, I don\'t have much to order you at the moment. You can just do your own thing."

pαndα`noνɐ1--сoМ "But I don\'t know what else to do. The wind also told me to stay close to you."

"The wind told you?" Lei Zhen raised an eyebrow. He couldn\'t fathom why the wind would tell her to stay close to him.

Candice nodded her head. "The wind said you have a great destiny ahead of you and by following you, I can get my vengeance."

"I don\'t think you should rely on the wind constantly." Lei Zhen said awkwardly.

"If the wind was really omnipotent, then you wouldn\'t have your tribe invaded and captured to be sold as a slave in Yors Castle." He added.

Although his words might hurt her a little bit, Lei Zhen didn\'t want her to heavily rely on the wind to dictate her life.

Life was hers and only she could decide what to do. No one else but themselves knew exactly what they wanted to do.

Alas, Candice\'s reply more or less nearly caused Lei Zhen to fall out of his chair.

"I know, but the wind told me not to resist and let the invaders detain and transport me. While being covered in a bag, my hope was pretty much shattered until I heard a voice." She slowly explained, revealing the small incident in which Lei Zhen demanded an inspection to see what was going on back at Strandland Port.

Lei Zhen had his mouth left open as he knew damn well that the wind must have been toying with her.

"Back then, I only took a glimpse at you and left without saying anything. Doesn\'t that mean the wind is not omnipotent?" He asked.

Candice nodded her head. "I was indeed disappointed at that time when the wind mentioned you would become my owner, but then you simply left. However, it said that the time wasn\'t right yet and that I needed to wait patiently."

At this point, Lei Zhen already gave up trying to reason with her that the wind is merely coming up with a bunch of nonsense to save itself face.

There was no way in the chance that the wind could guarantee Howard would enter a slave auction to search for candidates to assist him.

Unwilling to discuss further, Lei Zhen decided to let her do what she wanted.

It wasn\'t as if she was truly bothering him except for making him a bit uncomfortable since he was being watched over.

Candice merely smiled briefly when Lei Zhen stopped talking.

\'The wind was right all along. My fate and destiny are laid on to him. Just this sea incident event is enough to explain that he attracts extraordinary stuff.\' She thought to herself.
