Chapter 254 The Mana Control Test

“The crystal ball wasn’t even broken by the royal court mage since it can test up to the mana capacity of a Highest Realm Peak Stage mage. So breaking it meant that you have a mana capacity higher than that of a Highest Realm Peak Stage mage.”

“But mana capacity isn’t the only thing that a mage needed. Mana control is important as well, or else casting magic spells will be a difficulty. So follow me to the next testing room.”

Calmly speaking out those words to them as if he was unshaken by what had happened before, William walked forward as he injected mana into the wall behind the placement of the crystal ball.

The wall opened as William walked there, prompting Allen, Alisceon, and Iris to follow him.

Entering the second test room, it wasn’t the crystal ball test again but something different.

There were eight wooden barrels placed at the corners, with two placed at the center. With a total of ten wooden barrels, those wooden barrels contained a spherical and smooth stone but were miniature and were the same size as a pebble that could be found on the road.

“To test your mana control, you need to manipulate your mana and pick up all of the mana spheres stored in all of those wooden barrels. The more wooden barrels you empty, the greater your control over mana.”

“And before you think that this test is easy, let me warn you that the mana sphere was created from an ore that would disrupt the use of mana, albeit the mana disruption effect isn’t that high.”

As they say, no test is ever easy, or it wouldn’t be a test in the first place. And that message was what William was conveying to Allen in case he got overconfident with his capabilities just because he passed the magic capacity test with a test-breaking record.

Ignoring William’s word of warning, Allen released his vast mana as he manipulated it to head towards all ten wooden barrels, much to William’s displeasure.

‘As I expected, he might be talented, but he is still young. His overconfidence, brought on by his youth, will be his downfall.’

William thought as he assessed Allen’s actions while shaking his head.

As for Allen, why would he care about William’s words?

With his <Supreme Mage> talent, he was the embodiment of humanity’s peak attainment in that profession. After all, his <Supreme Mage> talent was only a step away from reaching the realms of a god!

And from what Allen knew, there weren’t any humans in this world who had stepped into the realms of a god. So his talents and power were without a doubt the strongest in the entire human race of this world.

And if Allen and his chat group members hadn’t arrived in this world, Distere Faith might have become the first ever human to step into the realms of a god in the future, but with their interference, that future outcome was no longer possible.

What he had shown William before was a mana capacity that surpassed a Highest Realm Peak Stage mage. Or in other words, a mana capacity that could be considered God-ish.

Dismissing those thoughts in his mind, Allen focused on finishing all of the tests so that he could finally obtain his identity in this world as a registered mage at the Mage’s Association and the most powerful one at that.

After releasing his vast mana, he manipulated that mana to lift all of the mana spheres contained inside the ten wooden barrels. But contrary to what William had said, he didn’t feel his mana being disrupted by the mana spheres.

Using his <Supreme Analyst>, Allen found out why the mana spheres didn’t disrupt his mana. It’s not that they didn’t; they couldn’t!

Allen’s mana quality was so high to the point that the mana spheres’ mana disruption effect couldn’t affect his mana whatsoever. So not only did he have vast mana capacity, but he also possessed mana quality that was the greatest.

Much to William’s surprise, Allen easily lifted all of the mana spheres in all ten wooden barrels. As if to mock William, Allen even controlled all of the mana spheres to gather and form various shapes.

Seeing the mana spheres being easily manipulated to the point that Allen even formed the mana spheres into the shape of the Mage’s Association building, William was left agape.

Knowing that Allen’s display of actions was to mock him, William only shook his head in disappointment. But he wasn’t disappointed in Allen, but himself.

It seemed that he had underestimated the capabilities of the young lad in front of him. No wonder he was chosen as the magic teacher of the first princess!

Seeing Allen’s supreme control of his mana that even surpassed the most talented mage in the Mage’s Association, William clapped his hands as he wasn’t ashamed to show his appreciation of Allen’s display of skills!

William knew that even if Allen didn’t have any affinities towards the elements and Allen couldn’t cast any magic spells, Allen’s vast mana and supreme control over his mana was enough to make him use his mana as his means of attack and defense.

So even if Allen failed the next test, which was to test his elemental affinities, William would do everything in his power to register Allen as a high-ranking mage, or else it would be an injustice that Allen wasn’t one.

“I have to say, your control over your mana surpassed all of the mages that I have met in my entire life. Even the strongest mage that was registered at the Mage’s Association couldn’t hold a candle to your level of mana control.”

“You passed this test as well.”

William declared Allen passed the mana control test as he walked towards a wall and injected his mana towards that wall, causing it to open up an entrance that led to another testing room.

After entering the testing room, William informed them.

“This is the last test that will determine your rank as a mage. The element affinity test.”
