Chapter 124 Escape! [3]
----
"Awoo!"
Akela howled as he descended from the beast plane.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
All around Legolas was an intense battlefield as he and the warriors of the 8 major tribes fought against while trying to escape the pursuit of the Titans.
As the group that left with the most warriors, they became the prime target of the undead Titans as thousands of them trooped after them.
Redmane and the other Foxes in Lucky\'s pack were the only reason why they were not annihilated yet, the Foxes proved their mettle in battle.
Redmane already proved that he was an outstanding Commander.
Despite some of the Foxes being mere Grade E beasts, under Commander Redmane\'s leadership, they cooperated and integrated with the other Foxes to form a cohesive unit that attacked and retreated as one.
None of the Foxes could be picked out by the undead Titans, their abilities complimented each other so much that none of them died to the Titans.
By using all the Foxes to their full potential, Redmane improvised in a way where they were able to escape to the edge of the massive ruined city.
The only problem was escaping the city.
Perhaps, having received orders from the Black Master, hundreds of Titans led by at least 5 Warrior Titans were at the edge of the city\'s destroyed wall already waiting for their arrival.
As soon as they arrived, the Titans pounced on them.
This was the reason why Legolas was forced to recall Akela.
The Wind Wolf\'s speed saved Legolas\'s life as soon as he mounted its back. Against so many Titans from both the front and the back, staying safe became a big problem as 2 of the tribe warriors died within the first minute.
This was when a difficult decision was placed before Legolas.
They were making progress in breaking through the blockade of the Titans, but if nothing changed, more of them would die before they escaped.
Legolas closed his eyes and made the decision.
----
"Awoo!" "Awoo!"
As soon as Legolas activated this ability again, the howl of dozens of wolves reverberated as Akela\'s wolf pack charged out of the beast plane.
"Hold the Titans at the back, hold them till we escape".
As soon as Legolas gave the order, he focused back on the Titans that blocked their way as he aimed with the G-96 pistols before pulling the trigger.
He knew that Commander Knock would not last against Black Master Einstein and was why he was in such haste to escape this cursed city.
Bam! Bam! Bam!
Under his leadership, the warriors and beasts attacked the Titans blocking their front with their all while the wolves sacrificed their lives to hold off the Titans that tried to attack them from behind.
There were sacrifices, all of them suffered injuries while another died but, in the end, they succeeded and were able to carve a path through the Titans.
"Run!!!"
Legolas yelled as he urged Akela to escape.
The swift Wind Wolf charged through the opened path first followed by Christensen on top Leo before the other warriors finally charged through.
Only one wolf survived among the wolves that stayed behind to hold of the Titans, the others all died. Only Warg, the Dark Wolf survived.
Akela\'s pack was more or less wiped out.
The Wind Wolf howled in anger and sadness as he escaped.
Legolas also felt sad at the sacrifice of the wolves but this was no time to mourn their deaths, he turned to his student.
"Bring Brutus now!"
"We need to erase our scents, that\'s the only way that we can escape".
Christensen dared not hesitate as he called the Shadow Hound.
As soon as he descended from the rainbow bridge, Brutus didn\'t need orders before he understood what was required of him as he used his special abilities to wipe off all their traces including their scents.
The Titans lost them in less than 2 minutes.
As they escaped, from afar, they could feel the powerful energy of the Black Master as his fire and sand wreaked havoc to vent his anger.
They suffered but they managed to escape. Following the plan that they agreed on beforehand, they escaped to a hideout in the desert where they rested for the night during their journey to the Ancient Titan city.
…
"Lord Kamnak, you need to escape first, worry about us after".
"No!"
"Everyone escapes with me!"
Kamnak\'s Berserk Ape fought alongside this powerful Pugilist as they carved holes through the chaotic formation of the Titans.
Despite having to face the lest number of Titans due to the few members in his group, Kamnak still faced a difficult task of escaping the city.
Of the 3 tribe warriors that followed him, one already died and he was now left with 2 to escape with. He had no intentions of deserting them.
The battle was bloody but Kamnak stood his ground as his Berserk Ape took the bulk of the action while they focused on escaping.
Thinking of his brother\'s sacrifice, he could not bring himself to abandon his 2 companions. He would rather die than abandon them.
After a few grueling minutes of battle and escape where they were left completely exhausted, they finally escaped out of the city.
After escaping the city, losing the Titans became another problem but they had help. Under Legolas\'s orders, Christensen and Brutus were waiting for them.
The master and beast helped 3 of them to erase their scents before sending them away to the hideout, then they stayed behind to wait for the last group.
Captain Aegon\'s group took longer than all the other groups.
And when he escaped, despite leaving with 5 superhuman warriors, he returned with only 2 and they were all severely injured.
Captain Aegon was bloody all over despite not suffering any deep injuries, but his 2 companions suffered. Ackermann lost a hand and deeply injured her right leg as the Captain had to carry her all the way while they escaped.
Arya\'s body was intact but she was badly scorched by fire.
Christensen was shocked on seeing them but he dared not tarry as he ordered Brutus to carry the incapacitated female warrior before leading them to safety, they lost the Titans after 4 minutes this time.
When they finally arrived at the hideout, the others were shocked.
Kamnak looked down at Ackermann\'s sorry state with shock on his face.
"What happened?"
"…"
