Chapter 611 - Traitor and Ambush

Chapter 611: Traitor and Ambush

The Shinla Devils had been active in Dusan Basin for quite some time now, spreading far and wide in the area. The group was not just Diran and his goons—in fact, Diran was just one of the lieutenants in the group.

Being an organization in the underworld, they would not just let things slide after their asses were handed to them.

“Bai Li? Isn’t this the girl that was with the boy who ruined our plan?”

“Yeah, I remember her. This lass is so beautiful. How could we forget her? But when I think about it... I actually don’t quite remember how she looks. Still, I know she’s hot!”

Diran said, “She has a strong aptitude in conscious energy. Hmm, this is expected from people who have learned conscious energy control. This means that she’s a really tough aptitude user!”

The others did not seem to show much concern after hearing Diran’s deduction. This did not change their plan to take on Qin Feng and Bai Li.

“This is actually great for us. Boss might actually have an excuse to wage a war now. Man, look at her picture again, guys. This girl is mighty fine!”

Diran smirked as he sent Bai Li’s picture to their boss’s communicator.

The boss of the Shinla Devils was, of course, Shinla. He was not only an A-tier but also a psychotic murderer who had some perverted appetite for women—he loved to kidnap beautiful ladies and rape them for days before chopping them into pieces.

These maimed women’s body parts would then be his “collection”.

Thus, after receiving Bai Li’s picture, it did not take long for Shinla to give Diran a reply.

“If she’s a C-tier, call Faelog. Tell him to bring her to me.”

Faelog was a B5-tier metal type aptitude user. He was quite powerful—in fact, more powerful than Diran.

Diran had no objection in bringing Faelog along. He thought that Qin Feng was just a gunner who knew a bit of ancient warriors’ martial arts. Gunners were known to be weak against metal type aptitude users. That was why Diran thought that having Faelog with him was enough to take Qin Feng down.

All he needed to do was to have Qin Feng and Faelog fight as he went and grab Bai Li.

Thus, Diran met up with Faelog and recruited another twenty underlings to bring along for the mission. They took a quiet route, carefully treading through the thick forests of Dusan Basin near its Central City.

Treading through the woods took them three days.

In those three days, Qin Feng had been heading out to take out insectoid nests. And each time he went out, he succeeded.

On the third day, Qin Feng had already taken out four nests, netting him 20 trillion and 250,000 points.

Meanwhile, Xu Qing took a lot of time in cleaning up the seventh region. During this time, the areas around him already had their statuses changed—from red zones to orange zones. Xu Qing even joked that perhaps before he was able to take down the nest in the seventh region, Qin Feng would have cleaned up all the insectoid emperors around.

These regions were numbered below ten—meaning that they were very close to the Central City. The nests in these regions were quite a pain to destroy and the authorities would need them to be cleared before spring. Yet, Qin Feng had almost wiped them clean in just four days.

Even Shang Han was surprised when she checked in on Qin Feng’s progress the other day via her communicator. Although she knew that he was able to handle the ultra beast hordes alone, cleaning up the insectoid nests with this speed was very unthinkable!

“Ahem! You don’t have to work this hard. Just sweeping up some nests that you think are a bother is good enough.” Shang Han said.

“Dear Regent, this is a little difficult for me to do... The places that I’ve been tend to have no grass to provide shelters for the ultra beasts. So, I’m used to cleaning up everything I see to the best of my abilities.” Qin Feng smiled.

This was true actually. The places that he was stationed at before were quite barren. And he was not lying about his hunting habit—if he had stayed in the Northern Region for a little longer, Qin Feng would have cleaned up most congregations of the ultra beasts there.

Unlike the others, Qin Feng wanted to collect the ultra beasts’ energies. If he needed this much energy to ascend, it meant that he had to kill just as many to reach his goal.

“Alright, alright... but don’t overdo it. You don’t want these ultra beasts to get desperate because of your heroics.”

“Don’t worry. They won’t be a problem.”

“Okay, then I’ll leave things to you over there. I’ll prepare a feast for you when you come back. Of course, you’ll get your rewards and points too.”

“Okay!”

Qin Feng responded nonchalantly. He did not care for the rewards.

These monetary gains and points were not much use in other places. Earning too much of these would not do him any good since Qin Feng had gotten all the things he wanted from the markets in Beihua City.

However, Qin Feng might be able to get something different and useful in Dusang Central City with his newly acquired 200,000 points.

Thus, another peaceful, restful night had passed. After walking out of the hotel, Qin Feng saw that Yuan Xiaoguang and the other five E-tier aptitude users were already waiting outside.

“Let’s go!” Qin Feng raised his hand and summoned his Silver Bolt.

As they all entered into their hovercrafts, Qin Feng heard someone calling from behind, “Qin Feng, wait!”

Qin Feng turned and saw Quong Ting standing next to him.

Huh, what did she want now?

Although Qin Feng had his doubt, he still stopped and greeted her out of courtesy.

“Yes, Ms Quong?”

“Oh, please. Just call me Ting Ting or Little Ting will do. You’ve saved my life after all!”

Qin Feng lightly frowned. ” Is there anything you need?”

“Where are you headed this time for your mission? Let’s go there together!”

Qin Feng frowned again—he did not want to bring a civilian with him. Even though she had two C-tiers with her, it would be quite bothersome to babysit someone in the field.

“The place could be too treacherous for you, Ms Quong.”

“You haven’t told me where you’re headed yet. How would we know it’s treacherous?” Quong Ting insisted.

After giving it some thought, Qin Feng decided to tell her his destination, “The second region.”

Quong Ting’s eyes lit up before she nodded and mocked up a disappointed look. “Oh, I am heading to the first region... but we could still travel together before we part ways at the junction. Come on, let’s go!”

“Alright, let’s go.” Qin Feng answered coldly.

However, he had a hunch that Quong Ting was up to something. Still, he agreed to travel with her—if it was travelling out of the city together, there was no reason to reject her.

A moment later, they had passed the green zones and about to enter the yellow zones; thus, they bid their goodbyes.

After seeing that Qin Feng and his gang had ventured deep into the second region, Quong Ting quickly sent a message to the assassin via her communicator.

“After you kill Bai Li, I’ll pretend to come out and act like I’m saving Qin Feng from you. Just pretend to fight back a bit and then run away later!”

Quong Ting thought that there was just one assassin working for her. So, her plan to play the hero was perfect. When it was all over and done, Qin Feng would have owed her his life.

This was a deceitful plan but it was a solid one nonetheless.

However, she did not know just who she had contacted to kill Bai Li.

After receiving the message, a smile curved up on Diran’s face.

“Heh, this woman is such a retard!”

Of course, Diran knew his client was Quong Ting. He could not wait to see her face when she realized who she had hired to do her dirty job.

“Alright, boys! The little lamb is coming!”

After receiving his orders, Diran’s goons went into hiding and got ready for the ambush.

And Qin Feng’s hovercraft was getting closer and closer to the borders between the first and second region!
