Chapter 57. Snatchers
It’s the 2nd and 3rd day of exploring the 6th floor.
During these 2 days, as on the 1st day, we proceeded smoothly with our dungeon exploration.
The map exploration went smoothly, and by the end of the 3rd day, we found a stairway to the 7th floor.
Our earnings for the 2 days totaled about 180,000 yen daily.
The reason why our income was about the same as the 1st day: the day we gave away the antidote potion to the two seekers for a high price: was that both income and expenses improved due to the effects of our [Poison Repellent Ring] and [Treasure Chest Drop x2].
After paying the daily allowance for the three of us, the dungeon budget is about 130,000 to 140,000 yen daily.
We first purchased Gale Boots (100,000 yen) for Kodachi-san.
Also, I gave up my Bronze Shield, which was getting out of shape in terms of defense and durability, and instead purchased an Iron Shield (50,000 yen) and equipped it with it.
On top of that, I had about 170,000 yen left in my dungeon budget, including the surplus from the first day, so I purchased a Pearl of Return (100,000 yen) for insurance in case of an emergency.
This disposable item creates an instant teleportation magic circle when used inside the dungeon, and could instantly teleport the entire party out of the dungeon.
It’s very expensive as a disposable item, so I’d like to avoid using it as much as possible, but even so, having one gives me a different sense of security.
It will also broaden the scope of our activities.
I decided to save the rest of the money for buying my next rank weapons.
In addition, the three of us had each improved one level during the two days of exploring the sixth level.

And after the 3rd day of exploring.
It was a little past the time for us to go home because the crows were cawing.
I straddled my bicycle on the bank in front of the dungeon and said goodbye to Kodachi and Yuzuki, who was also carrying her bicycles.
“Well, we’re going down to the 7th layer tomorrow. See you both tomorrow.”
“Yes, see you tomorrow. I love you, Senpai?.”
“Yes, yes, I love you too.”
Yuzuki is still saying random things, so I reply with random words.
But I don’t want her to do that in front of Kodachi-san.
What if she gets the wrong idea? Take responsibility.
And just when I was thinking such a thing.
Another unexpected word came to my mind.
“Well, I love you too, Musou-san. I’ll see you tomorrow, then.”
“Eh ……? Ah, eah, yes. I love you too, Kodachi-san. See you tomorrow …….”
The words that Kodachi-san hit me with were so unexpected that I returned the slurred words.
Kodachi-san, on the other hand, pedaled her bicycle as if nothing had happened and ran in the opposite direction from my return.
No, I think her ears were a little red. ……?
Yuzuki, who looked at Kodachi-san and me alternately, hurried after her on her bicycle.
I also can’t stop there, so I pedal my bicycle toward home.
……I wonder what happened just now.
She just mimicked the exchange between Yuzuki and me, right?
I just gave the same reply back to her, but what the heck is going on?
Thoughts that are not thoughts go round and round in my head and melt away.
And so, as I made my way home in a daze, I met my next accident.
“Kyaaaahhhh! It’s a snatcher! Someone grab him!”
“Ha, idiot! Who’s going to catch me? Get out of the way! You’re gonna get killed!
Residential area with moderate traffic.
At the end of the street, there was a commotion.
A woman of about 50 was lying on the road.
The man who had pushed her down and snatched her bag flashed a knife in his hand and ran toward me, making people on the street swerve to the side of the road like Moses.
The man is coming toward me.
No, I don’t think he was coming at me, but he was running in the direction I was.
I parked my bike on the spot, thinking, “What is this?”
Then I stood in front of the bike, waiting for the guy.
The option of giving him access to the road never crossed my mind.
“Hey, ……! Hey, you! Get out of the way! Or you’re going to get killed!”
The man came right in front of me and brandished a knife in his hand.
The people around me screamed and shouted.
But the man didn’t intend to hit me with the knife, and his movement seemed to be just a threat.
Well, even if he did intend to hit them, I don’t think he would hit me that hard.
At best, he was about the size of a kobold, so even if he didn’t have a spear or shield, it didn’t seem like he would be able to do anything.
Even if he did hit me, I didn’t think it would do any damage, dead or not.
I saw through the man’s movement and grabbed the wrist of the one holding the knife.
I put a little pressure on the hand I grabbed and let him take the knife off.
“───Gaaaahh! What the hell is this stupid power ……!”
“Yes, please be quiet. ─ ─ Excuse me, can someone please call 110?”
I knocked the guy down on the street, mounted on top, and seized him.
Then I held him there until the cops came, and when they arrived. I handed him over to them.
After that, they asked me many questions, and I was released about 30 minutes after I caught the guy.
I felt like I was wasting my time.
But that’s OK.
The woman who was snatched thanked me, and the policeman praised my work.
Incidentally, he also suggested that I stop confronting the man with a knife because it is dangerous.
Once again, I was reminded that seekers are superhuman in the eyes of the public.
