Chapter 285 Inherited Ambition (Part 1)
\'\'You must already be an E-Rank, right? Have you participated in any E-Rank matches yet?\'\' Samuen inquired.
Raydon still had the glove in his hand, and due to his absurd nature, Samuen couldn\'t tell at a glance how strong he was or what rank he was at just by looking at him. However, taking into consideration his incredible potential and the amount of time that had passed since he had been awakened as an item holder, he believed that Raydon should have already ascended to the E-Rank by this point.
Raydon nodded in response to the first question and replied, "Not yet. I still have some time."
"Good, good," Samuen expressed. "E-Rank matches have some differences compared to F-Rank matches. I don\'t believe they will present much of a challenge for you, but I will give you some items later that will speed up your promotion to the next rank and increase the amount of experience you gain from matches."
Raydon was taken aback by this revelation. "Advancing to the next rank quickly? What are the requirements for the next rank? "
He needed to win 10 consecutive matches in order to advance from F-Rank to E-Rank, and he guessed that the requirement to advance to D-Rank was naturally more difficult. But Samuen\'s statement about speeding up the process confused him.
"It remains the same as before," Samuen explained. "You still need to win 10 matches in a row without a loss. Also, this time, your opponents will be more numerous, experienced, and stronger than before. Nevertheless, I don\'t believe they will pose any significant problems for you." Samuen could see that Raydon\'s current strength surpassed that of an average E-Rank item holder.
"But there\'s an additional challenge," Samuen continued, his tone becoming more serious. "In addition to the 10 consecutive wins, you will also need to eliminate a total of 1000 participants from other worlds who join the matches. \'\'
\'\'You will face more enemy teams in the next match, but eliminating a total of 1000 adversaries can be a difficult task. After all, they won\'t be like regular mobs that are standing around waiting for you to come and kill them,\'\' Samuen added.
\'It looks like this will take more time than simply winning 10 matches. \' Raydon thought.
Raydon was unsure how many foes he would face in each E-Rank match, but he knew that reaching 1000 enemy kill counts in total would be a difficult task.
He was well aware that the opponents he would face at this higher rank would most likely be more skilled and cautious than before, making it more difficult for him to dispose of them in a short amount of time. They were able to avoid Raydon\'s attacks or run away and hide as soon as they realized they were no match for him, thereby preventing him from reaching the required number of kills.
Furthermore, there were instances in F-Rank matches where Raydon couldn\'t find any enemy item holders at all. If he lacked proficient investigative skills, locating opponents to eliminate would become even more arduous, prolonging the time required to meet this requirement.
Raydon gazed at Samuen\'s cheerful and self-assured face for a few moments before he let out a sigh.
He was unaware of the intricate workings of this world, and so he had been focusing on bettering himself in each subsequent match. However, with an experienced individual like Samuen by his side, he realized the advantages of having a mentor who could help him better prepare for the challenges that lay ahead.
\'At least having a family still has some advantages, huh?\' Raydon thought to himself, acknowledging the benefits of having support and guidance.
Because he wanted to move up the ranks as quickly as possible and compete against more difficult foes, he realized that enlisting Samuen\'s assistance would be beneficial to him.
\'\'You must be tired. Go get some rest, and I\'ll find you later so we can continue talking about your upcoming match," Samuen said to him with concern.
\'\'Okay. \'\' Raydon said.
Even though Raydon didn\'t seem to mind it much, all of the things he learned about his past and his most recent reawakening had caused him to mentally wear out, and he needed to pull himself together by at least realizing one of his old ordinary human habits, which is getting some sleep.
After that, the door to the underground chamber that had been previously sealed opened once more.
\'\'Young master. \'\'
Diam, with a graceful bow, respectfully sought permission to accompany Raydon. Upon receiving his nod, she embarked on escorting him to his room.
As soon as Diam and Raydon left the chamber, the door closed behind them again and sealed the room.
"I still can\'t believe everything that happened," Seren muttered, her gaze fixed upon the closed door.
Everything they had experienced and learned today had initially seemed like a dream to them, but after Raydon left the room and the door was re-sealed, they realized it had all actually happened, with the broken gate\'s presence once more washing over them like a wave.
It was clear that the presence that the Observer had left behind had not vanished, and it appeared to be keeping a low profile solely due to the fact that Raydon was still present.
"What should we do next?" Cael turned to Samuen and asked.
Cael and Thalia\'s initial goal was to protect their family from Raydon and the threats that he posed by keeping as much distance as possible between them. However, their perspective had shifted, and they now resolved to follow Samuen\'s guidance.
Before giving his response, Samuen paused for a moment to collect himself and then said, "This is a difficult question to answer." The upbeat and cheerful demeanor that he had displayed while in Raydon\'s company had given way to a look of complete and utter exhaustion. It was obvious that the defeat he experienced in the match earlier was weighing heavily on him, going far beyond what could be seen on the surface.
