Chapter 30 High Stamina
Dan pleaded, "Can\'t you just keep quiet and go your own way?"
\'\'What did you say!? \'\' The burly man must have heard Raydon clearly because he shouted again, this time pointing his gun at Raydon.
\'\'I said, I wonder how much damage the bullet of the gun in your hand can do to me.\'\' Raydon began to approach the bulky man slowly. He was wearing that strange smile again.
Indeed, how much harm could an ordinary weapon inflict on an item holder with more than 20 times the toughness of a normal human?
\'\'What are you doing? Are you crazy? \'\' Dan yelled out in shock and attempted to stop Raydon, but he recalled the last time he had found himself on the ground only after placing his hand on his shoulder.
\'But the person in front of him is twice as big and has a gun. \' Dan thought.
Raydon was walking slowly toward the man in front of everyone\'s prying eyes.
\'\'So you\'re really trying to get yourself killed. \'\' He spoke through gritted teeth. His rage at this point knew no bounds. Everyone was lining up to die in front of him, as if they were mocking him.
\'\'Do you really think I can\'t kill you? To hell with the leader and his orders. You will all die here. \'\' He yelled, using every last breath he had, then got ready to shoot Raydon.
\'\'Yes. I think you can. Pull the trigger. \'\' Raydon said with a twisted smile. He was staring right into the man\'s eyes.
For a brief moment, the man\'s hand holding the gun shook. \'Who is this man? What the hell are those eyes? \'
Raydon had hollow eyes that appeared to be staring into his soul. He had the impression that he was the target of the gun rather than Raydon.
\'\'D-Don\'t come close, or I\'ll actually shoot. \'\' The man said with a trembling voice as he unintentionally took a step back. He no longer experienced anger as a feeling. He wasn\'t sure why, but the bitter cold of the wind seemed to freeze his body.
\'H-He will kill me. \' The man was starting to believe that he was going to die because Raydon\'s killing intent had seeped so deeply into him.
"The gun in your hand is not there to frighten kids. Just shoot me. \'\'
Raydon was now so close that he could reach out and grab the gun. But he did nothing but wait, standing motionless.
Everyone who was watching was attempting to comprehend what was happening. Raydon stood in front of a man much larger than himself, begging to be shot.
The strangest aspect of this play, which was being performed in front of everyone, was that the man\'s body was shaking like a leaf in the wind. His face was covered in a cold sweat, and drops of it were beginning to fall to the ground from his chin.
The crowd was puzzled as to whether this was all part of a script or what kind of magic Raydon had used when they were suddenly startled by Raydon\'s shout.
\'\'I SAID SHOOT. \'\'
And then a gunshot followed.
*BANG*
\'\'A-Are you serious? \'\' After a brief period of silence, Dan spoke aloud what was on everyone\'s mind.
Raydon, who had been shot in the head in front of everyone, was still standing there, his head cocked back. Smoke was still coming out of his forehead, which had a small scar in the center.
[-23 HP]
\'\'Damn, that hurt. \'\' Holding his head, Raydon spoke while ignoring the blood dripping from his forehead. The pain he felt was insignificant, but the dizziness from the impact was unsettling.
\'I guess it wasn\'t a good idea to get shot in the head to test the effectiveness of my stamina,\' Raydon muttered.
\'\'You are… Are you an item holder? \'\' The muscular man retreated in fear as he asked.
Dan and the others were also staring at Raydon as if he were a monster. Their eyes were filled with fear, surprise, admiration, and a hint of jealousy.
The burly man stepped back in fright, but then he tripped and fell to the ground. A grip appeared on his throat as he struggled to raise his shaky body off the ground.
As the big man struggled to stand up while on his knees, Raydon grabbed him by the neck.
\'\'Are you planning to go somewhere? \'\'
The burly man\'s vision was of Raydon, with his bloody face and frightful smile, looking like the reincarnation of a demon.
\'\'I-I\'m s-sorry. \'\' The burly man began to sob out of fear. In light of the devil grabbing his neck, he started to believe that death would be a simple escape for him.
\'\'I don\'t need to hear you say sorry. \'\' Raydon stated.
\'\'Wait, wait, I\'m a member of the ash skin gang. My leader is also an item holder. He is an E-Rank item holder. If you do something to me, he won\'t stay silent. \'\' The burly man spoke quickly, as if he had found his ticket to salvation.
\'\'I don\'t care. You\'ve just made me angry, and you\'re going to pay for it with a life.\'\' Without paying attention to the man\'s words, Raydon spoke. What he was doing was identical to what the burly man had done a while back. In order to resolve this situation, a life had to be offered in exchange.
The man repeatedly opened and closed his mouth as if he were going to speak, but nothing came out.
\'\'Okay, we\'ll do this then. You have a chance to be saved. \'\' When Burlyman heard what Raydon said, his eyes glowed. He only needed a chance to get away from this demon\'s grasp right now. He was ready to do anything.
He replied instantly so as not to lose this opportunity, "Of course, I will do anything, just say so and consider it done."
\'\'I will spare your life if one of your friends agrees to take your place.\'\' The burly man was shocked to hear this. His friends, who were only a short distance away, were also stunned by what they were hearing.
