Chapter 470: The Pillar (3)
“I said I would destroy the pillar.”
Destroy the pillar.
Jamie looked at the huge pillar behind him. He heard that no matter what was done to it, it couldn’t be destroyed.
Actually, even Ra, who had conquered the first world, couldn’t do anything about the pillar.
No, there was no need to think that far. The power that could be felt from the pillar wasn’t at a level that could be interfered with, even if one were an Absolute.
It could be said to be the totality of the universe. There was no way it was possible to destroy something like that.
“Huhu. Just like you think, you can’t break the pillar just because you want to. However, that doesn’t mean that it can’t be damaged.”
He pushed the orb forward.
The orb was a combination of forces when the two of them clashed.
“I couldn’t destroy the pillar with my power alone, but if two Absolute beings come together, is it still impossible?”
Jamie didn’t have an easy answer. The power contained in the orb was shocking.
It wouldn’t be an exaggeration to say that it was the power created by two of the most powerful beings in the universe.
‘Maybe it is possible.’
He wasn’t sure of it, but seeing Ra go this far didn’t seem impossible either. Then what would happen if the pillar was destroyed?
Just like he said, would the world that had been created by Gaia collapse?
Even so, there was no way they would be safe.
“You will die too.”
When the world collapsed, there was no way that even Absolute beings would be safe. This was because the destruction goes beyond transcendent beings.
“You seem to be misunderstanding something.”
“Misunderstanding something?”
“Even if the pillar is destroyed, the fake world doesn’t immediately collapse. It’s not like destroying sand castles.”
The universe would slowly collapse. The problem was that no one could stop the universe from collapsing.
A world that lost its pillar would destroy all the lives in it, and it was the same with Ra.
However, Ra laughed.
“But if I obtain the power of the pillar, everything will change.”
The reason Ra wanted to destroy the pillar wasn’t just to get rid of the fake world.
“I will destroy the pillar and take away its essence. And as the only God, I will eliminate the disgusting world created by Gaia and create a real world.”
Ra would no longer refer to himself in an extravagant manner. It was no longer necessary.
If everything went back to nothing, he would be the only one left in the empty world. In such a place, he didn’t have to use such expressions.
Jamie frowned when he heard Ra’s purpose.
“Was that why you made me strong?”
“Yes. I needed someone with the same strength as me, and you were a suitable vessel. See? This is the power created by you and me.”
He looked at the orb, and with a smiling face, he said,
“If you were lacking even a bit, it couldn’t have worked, and my plans would have gone awry. You have grown so wonderfully, Jamie Welton.”
“Do you think I will just stand by and watch?”
Jamie used Tae Heo, which could surely stop Ra’s plan.
Maybe it was because of this situation that Tae Heo spread out. But Ra laughed.
“The great power of Tae Heo. Since the Taiji form is completed, it might be the only force that can stop me.”
“It isn’t like I didn’t know it. It just happened that way. The pillar shouldn’t be destroyed. I will never allow you to destroy the world my people live in.”
“That would be fun, too, so try stopping me if possible. If you can stop me, then you know what will happen.”
A crack broke in the orb, and light began to push itself out of it as if it would explode at any moment. Jamie stretched out his arms in front of him and captured the essence of the orb.
Since the orb contained Jamie’s energy, he didn’t have any difficulty handling it. Jamie could feel Tae Heo at the tip of his fingers, and then he spread his arms wide to scatter it.
“Disappear!”
The orb trembled, and half of Jamie’s energy vanished, so the orb could no longer destroy the pillar.
And Ra said,
“Don’t you get that it is already too late?”
“?!”
Jamie’s eyes widened.
He surely touched the orb, scattered his energy, and took control away from Ra. But the orb seemed fine, as if nothing had happened.
Ra explained why.
“The power to destroy pillar. Don’t you understand what it means?”
“Do you mean that even an Absolute can’t invade it?”
“Do not disrespect me so much, Jamie Welton. You can’t do anything. Suck your finger and watch as the world resets.”
“Tsh!”
Jamie quickly moved in front of Ra. If he couldn’t block the orb, then it would be much better for him to defeat Ra.
It was just the method that changed.
Jamie mixed all kinds of magic with his blade and swung it. There were thunder, flames, storms, and others entangled together.
It turned time and space upside down and twisted all five senses.
It was so twisted and mixed that nothing could be done to stop it, and he couldn’t defend against it with a single blow.
‘I will blow off your head!’
It was dangerous for him to defend himself with the orb in his hand. It was because at Ra’s level, even if he didn’t defend himself, he had enough ability to interfere with the orb.
So it was best to blow off his head and block his thoughts from flowing. Jamie gritted his teeth and put strength into his blade, which landed on Ra’s neck.
The orb broke.
Jamie performed a series of attacks at lightning speed, but it was nothing compared to the time it took for the orb to break.
The power the orb was giving out could gulp down the entire land. The ground that wasn’t that damaged from their fight collapsed.
Then Jamie shouted as he felt his body get pushed back.
“Stop!!!”
Jamie stretched out his arms, but he couldn’t interfere with its power. At this rate, the pillar might be destroyed.
‘Damn it.’
Jamie watched as the pillar, which rose without end, collapsed.
The universe began to perish.
Kwaaang!!!
The sky was falling, with darkness pouring down as if mud were falling from the sky.
And Trika frowned at the sight of that.
This sudden phenomenon made him pause from fighting, and he asked the opponent, with whom he had a fierce battle.
[What is that?]
The man with a dog’s head didn’t answer. He just glared at the sky with a sense of betrayal and shouted,
“You never said anything like this!!!”
Then the dog-headed man put his hands on his head in disbelief.
“Don’t be ridiculous. To die this way? You said you would give us the world. What a ridiculous way to betray us like this!”
At the sight of the opponent shouting, Trika clicked his tongue.
Apparently, the Sun God betrayed him.
He sat on the ground and mumbled with a look of despair,
“Was I just a tool…?”
[Just you?]
To Trika’s question, the dog-headed man looked at him and said,
“Kuak. Me alone?”
He smiled.
“Not just me. I suffered, but we aren’t the only ones suffering.”
[What do you mean?]
“Can’t you see? The pillar is destroyed. Soon this star… No, not just this star, but the whole universe will perish.”
Trika couldn’t hide his shock at the words that the entire universe would perish. He had heard a little about the pillar, but he didn’t know the entire universe depended on it.
[It should be stopped.]
If this mud-like darkness touched the ground, nothing could be done to revert things, so Trika tried to fly into the sky to stop it.
The dog-headed man looked at him and laughed.
“How do you plan to stop that? It goes beyond even the Absolute. You will be swept away at once and perish.”
[You will vanish from this place without doing anything, but my colleagues and I will struggle to survive.]
Trika left with those words and didn’t look back.
“Pointless. As the pillar is destroyed, there is no longer any future. The current universe will completely disappear. It is the end.”
And the dog-headed man took his own life after saying those words.
“Please summon all the magicians!”
“Yes, yes!”
“Siegfried.”
Ann quickly gave her aide orders, and then she looked at Sieg, who was beside her. He was the strongest magician here, so she tried to ask him about the current situation.
But Siegfried stared at the falling darkness without saying a single word.
“Siegfried?”
“Ah, yes.”
When Ann called him again, Sieg, who had just come to his senses, turned and pointed to the sky.
“I don’t know what that is, but when that thing touches the ground, everything will end at that moment. We need to stop it somehow.”
“I did ask the magicians to be summoned, regardless of friend or foe.”
“You did well.”
Only the best magicians of Bless were gathered on the battlefield. If everyone gathered their strength and built a barrier, they might have a chance to block the pouring darkness.
At that moment, a man in flames landed in front of the two. Then the flames went out, and Lennon appeared.
And that wasn’t all.
Simon, who was in Flame Emperor mode, also went down.
As the father and son arrived at the same time, they looked at each other for a long time but didn’t greet each other.
Then Simon said,
“We need to stop that.”
“We were preparing for that.”
“It’s not about preparing for it but about starting with those who can stop it. If we prepare for it, it will be too late.”
Right.
It would take time to summon the magicians and prepare a barrier.
The darkness was slowly pouring in, and it was impossible to know how far it would fall. Then they saw the dragons and High Elves soaring into the sky.
They were far ahead of humans in terms of magic, so they were able to recognize this darkness at once and act quickly to stop it.
Meanwhile, the Rans and Valkyries were helping build the barrier with their power despite being unable to use magic.
“We will join.”
“Ann, you gather the magicians and prepare for the next barrier.”
“Let’s head up.”
Sieg, Simon, and Lennon all flew to the sky while Ann moved and informed the magicians, who had just arrived, about the current situation.
The magicians of the Sun Church didn’t want to follow them, but the high-level magicians knew how dangerous this situation was, so they persuaded their fellow magicians on Ann’s behalf.
Thus, they were able to work together without any major conflicts.
It was an unseen act by two factions that previously wanted to kill each other to work together.
“I know about the excellent vision you have, so I will entrust you with the commands.”
When the old man with the highest rank among the Sun Church’s magicians acknowledged Ann, the others followed him.
Then they began to build barriers. They were barriers that would protect the world from darkness, and such a phenomenon was happening all over Bless.
In order for everyone to feel what this darkness was and to protect their homes.
“Huhuhu.”
However, Ra laughed at how pointless all of this looked to him.
“That is all.”
He stood naked in front of this black light, and the energy flowing from it seemed to reach its maximum when he approached it.
If he absorbed this power, he would become the perfect being. Ra held the black light in his hand, and his body, which had evolved, began to change again.
It was at that moment.
“I thought you were going to die.”
Came this low voice, and Ra turned in its direction and was a bit shocked to see a man covered in blood.
The agony on his face made it seem like he wanted to sleep at any moment, but the will to live in his eyes shone brighter.
Jamie said,
“Yah! Let go of that.”
Black mana exploded.
“If not, I will pull them out.”
Both of his eyes shone purple.
