Chapter 95
He was going to ask questions about this organization of his, but before he could voice out his thoughts, he noticed Haley glaring at him again.
Her glares translated as, “If you so much as denied even a single request, you’re dead!”
“What is this organization about?”- He quickly changed the previous questions that he had in his mind into more of a fitting one.
“It is about collecting information and doing every odd task for me.”- Ozul explained while looking out of the window, on the scene which depicted one of the man’s original sin, lust.
“And how big is this organization, where is it located? Moreover, what is the name?”- Irvin started bombarding the questions.
“Oh, that? Well, it’s up to you.”
.....
“Up to me? What do you mean?”- The old man could not understand what Ozul was trying to say.
“The organization hasn’t been built yet... You have to build it.”- Ozul gave a pause in the middle so Irvin could understand each of his words.
“WHAT!?”
*Smack!*
“Lower your volume! What are you shouting for!?”- Haley again gave a smack to Irvin.
“But!... but...”- Irvin wanted to say something in his defense but stopped midway remembering the earlier smacks.
*Sigh...*
“...You mean to say that I not only have to manage but also have to build this organization of yours from scratch. Did I get it right, brat *cough...* I mean, young man?”
Irvin corrected himself at the end of his sentence, noticing the hand of Haley that was ready to come his way anytime.
“Hm... You got it right, old man.”- Ozul replied without caring about the annoyance that was almost written on Irvin’s face when he replied so straightforwardly.
Ozul was basically asking Irvin to do everything for him! Only the word ‘Slave’ was not spoken openly. Otherwise, it wasn’t anything different from that.
Hence, it resulted in Irvin being annoyed to no end with the way Ozul was ‘asking’ him to do it.
With the way Ozul was not even looking at him, it made him think that the kid didn’t even care for his answer.
“It was all for this, wasn’t it?”- Though Irvin may have aged, he still remembered the ins and outs of such matters.
“Yes. It was...”- Ozul did not lie or try to make some excuse since he did not care if Irvin knew or not.
Irvin finally understood what Ozul had meant by, ‘I am interested in these people.’ when killing Drom.
From the start, Ozul had an eye on him. This thought gave him shivers as such foresight was not something that he had imagined from a teenager!
“So, will you do it... or not?”
Though it sounded like a question, these words brought pressure to Irvin, who had already recovered his Rank-8 Mage powers.
This event bewildered Irvin since he had thought that Ozul, at most, was only as powerful as a Rank-8 Mage only.
However, using only his words to cause his knees to go weak was not something a Rank-8 Mage could do to another one on the same level!
Then as if he had just remembered something, Irvin looked probingly at Ozul. He silently used a Spell that he had created specifically for analyzing his opponents.
The results again caused him to have a setback since no matter how much he tried, the kid before him showed signs of being neither a Fighter nor a Mage.
‘Just what is he... He can’t be a Rank-9 Mage at such a young age! It’s just impossible! Wait... why am I only judging his age by his appearance!’-
Irvin contemplated for a while in his mind and concluded that Ozul was actually a Senior that was above Rank-8 and only looked like a teenager.
And now, when he thought about Ozul being a Senior, all of his behavior made sense to him. No teenager could be so decisive and calm while dealing with matters.
It also made sense as to why he could not find any traces of him being a Mage or a Fighter.
After ‘realizing the truth’, Irvin ‘understood’ that this ‘Senior’ before him just wanted a lackey to do small stuff for him.
Though he was ready to accept Ozul’s ‘request’ even before his ‘realization’, Irvin was more than happy to be working under someone of a higher rank than him.
The thought of working under someone more powerful than him would help Irvin maintain his self-esteem.
“I will do it, Senior!”- Irvin said in a respectful tone. His attitude took a 360-degree turn after ‘realizing the truth’.
Both Ozul and Haley looked at Irvin weirdly. However, they did not bother to ask what brought the change.
‘Well, it’s better this way.’- Ozul had realized the reason for such sudden change in attitude by the way Irvin addressed him.
Many before him had also come to the same conclusion. Ozul did not try to correct the misunderstanding since it was beneficial for him.
“Do not call me a Senior.”
Though it didn’t matter what others called him, Ozul would receive unwanted attention if an old man such as Irvin was noticed calling him a Senior.
‘Ah! Of course Senior wouldn’t want me to call him that in public!’- Irvin thought.
“Then... I will just call you, Young Master?”
Even Master would sound as if Ozul was older than him, so the closest thing that he could think of was calling him Young Master.
“Whatever...”
After everything was said and done, they noticed that it had been getting quite smelly already in the room. So, they decided to do the remaining talks back at the hotel.
Just as Irvin opened the door, the group of Fighters still stood outside, unaware of the events that had occurred.
“Oi! You! Where is Samora?!”-
One of them who had still not realized that something was off due to the repugnant smell of blood shouted while pointing at Ozul.
*Thud*
Though before he could say anything else, he dropped dead on the floor! It was also not Ozul who did it this time, but Irvin, since he would not accept any disrespect now that he had his powers back again.
“Ahhhh!” X4
Some of the men present were so shocked that they screamed unconsciously. Only the glare from Irvin made them put hands on their mouths to stop themselves from shouting.
“Listen well. Bafon, the leader of this organization, is dead. From today onwards, I will be taking over!”
Irvin said in a loud voice that rang out all around the building.
Hearing the voice amplified by Mana, everyone working stopped their work and began to look around for answers.
The remaining group of Fighters just stood there dumbfounded. None of them dared to move in fear of dying.
“You! I will be back here tomorrow. Spread my words to whoever isn’t present here at this moment.”
“And if they have any problem, they can directly complain to me. Understood?”- Irvin said with an arrogant attitude while pointing towards the leader of the group.
The guy was only a Rank-4 Fighter; he almost pissed in his pants when Irvin’s Mana pressure had engulfed his entire body. He hurriedly nodded his head like a chicken to show that he understood.
After that, Ozul started walking to the exit, followed by Irvin and Haley.
Everyone that they passed by hurriedly moved aside in fear of angering Irvin, who had a nasty look on his face. Even Haley did not stop Irvin this time since she knew that this was necessary.
No one dared to stop them or block their way as they reached the exit.
Leaving through the door, the grumpy old guy was still sitting on his stool, reading the newspaper with the light from a candle.
The grumpy old guy had also heard the previous shout, but he did not care either way. His duty was just to open the doors anyway.
He looked at the faces of the trio and did not utter a word. After a few seconds of staring, he went back to reading the newspaper on hand.
“...That rascal finally died, hmph!”-
The grumpy old guy muttered to himself as Ozul, and the couple walked away, disappearing in the shadows of the buildings.
As they walked back, the trio did not care about the commotion that their actions had caused in the building. Many of the people wanted to leave, while others were too afraid even to sleep that night!
Only when the Fighter who was threatened by Irvin to spread the word of him being the new leader had managed to compose himself and do his work did people calm down.
They calmed down since Irvin declaring himself the new leader meant that he would not be destroying the whole organization.
Just as they had sighed in relief, though, the anxiety of being kicked out of the organization hit everyone.
Many of the people working were ordinary men. They earned their food by working here.
However, not everyone was worried. Some of the members, who thought that they were some big shots, even wanted to try and challenge Irvin for the position!
