Chapter 61
Clouds had covered the Moon, so the only significant source of light was the burning estate of the Count. Due to the size of the explosion, the fire still burned and illuminated the surroundings.
On one side of the city, there was the commotion of the civilians, while on the other hand, a different battle took place.
If anyone with good eyesight looked in the forest, they would notice the raging battles between tens of Rank-5 and above Mercenaries with Magical Beasts!
The situation here favored the Mercenaries as even though the Beasts fought together, they could not coordinate their attacks.
Many of the Beasts died, but the Mercenaries did not have time to collect the materials. Instead, they hoped over the dead bodies to advance further.
If anyone looked at this scene, they would be surprised because each one of those Rank-5 Beast was worth hundreds of Silver Coins!
.....
The Mercenary teams did not collect the corpses because everyone wanted to complete the mission, which was worth a hundred times more than those dead Magical Beasts!
The scene looked as if there was some war between the Beasts and the Humans. There were also several casualties on the Humans’ side, but it amounted to nothing when compared to the dead Beasts.
While these people still struggled to move forward, the sight where the ritual took place also looked as if the two sides were at war!
The man in the robes protected the runes of the ritual while Edwin and his men attack them.
Anyone could point out that the situation was in the Eclipse’s Order’s favor. Not only were these men coordinating with each other, but they also had the numbers!
*Swoosh*
*Zmhhhmm*
Each side chanted their Magical Spells against the enemy side. The smell of the blood slowly thickened. No one had any time to tend to the wounded, you either live, or you die. There were only these two options.
Raven and Blaze also fought against the Eclipse’s Order to thin out their numbers. They fared quite well since both of them also coordinated with each other.
Duke Edwin had brought many people, but the Eclipse’s Order still had the numerical advantage.
Back to Ozul, he was annoyed that these people got in the way of his and his own ‘self’.
But more than anything, he was irritated when he looked at these people fighting over his ‘part’ as if they fought over some tool! How dare they?!
Ozul looked towards the Rank-7 Fire Mage as he stood wide-eyed when he saw that his Spell had close to no effect on him!
But he was a Rank-7 Mage for a reason. His mindset was completely different from any other person.
He quickly readied himself for the battle as he knew that it wouldn’t be an easy one because he had seen how Ozul did not even put an ounce of effort into protecting himself.
Duke Edwin was worried that all of his men would be killed before his fight finished because there were two Rank-7 Mages against his single Rank-7 Mage.
During the fight with the Leader Podas, both parties would occasionally sweep their eyes over the ‘battlefield’.
Both of them had also noticed when the Rank-7 Fire Mage had attacked that unusual kid. They did not put much thought into it at that time. But when Ozul had appeared unscathed, their interest piqued.
Leader Podas thought that he was one of the Duke’s men. However, Edwin knew better. He was delighted since this kid had helped his men.
Edwin had already thought of giving Ozul a generous reward when this was all over. Yes, he believed that it was only a matter of time now before they won, and he gets his treasure back.
‘Is he also a Rank-7 Mage? But why does he not radiate even a fraction of Mana?!’- The Mage was baffled by this scene as the only conclusion he could come into was that the kid was actually not a kid!
The Fire Mage thought the kid in front of him was some old hidden expert that had excellent control over his Mana!
His guess had been wrong, but this made him take this fight seriously. Just a small mistake and his life would be put on the line!
However, the longer the Fire Mage paused to think of a strategy, the furious Ozul got.
His opponent might be a strong Rank-7 Mage, but Ozul was not here to win a single battle here. Moreover, his headache increased with each passing second.
Ozul wanted nothing more than to take a big leap and get a hold of his leg, but he knew that this Rank-7 Mage would not stay still.
He had also noticed that this was one of the Evil Mages who did not use the Darkness Element.
It would have been better if this Mage had Darkness Element as Ozul knew that there would not be anyone in this world with a better understanding of the Darkness than himself.
Since the Fire Mage was not making a move, Ozul decided to strike first.
This time, Ozul decided a different approach as anyone could easily block the blades.
The Ball of Purity turned liquidy and then started to take the shape of a snake! Ozul had chosen this shape for many reasons.
The most significant reasons were that its movement was erratic, and it was easier for Ozul to control it.
The Fire Mage was stunned when the long pitch black snake slithered towards him.
Not only because he did not feel any Mana when Ozul created the snake, but also because the snake gave him weird vibes.
The snake looked extremely life-like. If the Fire Mage had not seen it with his eyes, he would have thought that this was some Magical Beast.
The snake was not so huge, but rather a small one since Ozul could only create so much with the little amount of Ball of Purity that he had.
Despite its size, the Fire Mage still felt as if some Rank-7 Beast stared at its prey!
Only the stray Magical Spell from a random guy in the battle woke him up out of his trance. With his hands trembling, the Mage was ready to fight till the death!
He would not underestimate this kid, no matter how young he looked.
