Chapter 324 – Not a Sin to Like Someone

Chapter 324 – Not a Sin to Like Someone

Luo Qiqi patted Yue Wuxin on her back, trying her best to console her.

“Don’t be too upset. Let’s just see how it goes tomorrow!”

Yue Wuxin nodded, tears glinting in her eyes.

The three of them took a morning flight to Russia on the very next day.

Upon arrival, Yue Wuxin checked into a hotel with Luo Qiqi and Su Jincheng. She heeded their advice and was planning to get in touch with her father first, but before that, she wanted to be sure what she was up against.

Yue Wuxin spent the next couple of days surveying the area around the Presidential Estate and looked into what was happening in the country to try and find out if there was any major political change underway.

Though she still had no idea why her own mother would want to kill her, she found out that her father, Pedrov, would be returning home within the next two days.

If it weren’t for Su Jincheng and Luo Qiqi’s suggestion, she might not have made this trip back.

Why did my mother want to kill me? Why did she give me suggestions like that? Did she really treat me as her daughter? Was all her love and kindness over the years faked??These questions circled Yue Wuxin’s mind.

On the very same day they arrived in Russia, Song Xiaoxiao berated her subordinates in the Presidential Estate. “How could you fail at this? I already said to attack her only when she’s alone. You guys just made them more alert now! Idiots!”

Kneeling on the floor, the men trembled in fear.

Song Xiaoxiao’s specific instructions to them were to attack Yue Wuxin only when Su Jincheng was not around.

However, these men had never seen Su Jincheng in the flesh and all they had was a photo for reference. Moreover, since it was dark at night, they thought that Luo Qiqi and Su Jincheng were random passers-by who happened to be going in the same direction as Yue Wuxin.

None of them expected that they would be defeated so badly by Su Jincheng and Luo Qiqi.

“Where are they now?”

The leader answered, “I’m not sure, but they would’ve probably left Sanya by now.”

“Get out! Don’t let her return to Russia. Kill her on sight if you see her. Keep your eyes peeled for the next two days. The President is returning soon. I won’t let her spoil my plans!”

“Understood!” Her subordinates answered.

None of them dared reveal that Yue Wuxin was already aware it was Song Xiaoxiao behind everything.

Though these men were loyal to Song Xiaoxiao, they knew how cruel she could be and no one dared say anything as they feared for their lives.

Two days passed in the blink of an eye.

Pedrov was returning on this very day.

Yue Wuxin wanted to confront her mother alone at first, but Luo Qiqi didn’t agree to it.

After spending the past few days with Yue Wuxin, Luo Qiqi felt that Yue Wuxin was not that malicious, and that it was actually Song Xiaoxiao who was the one leading her onto the wrong path.

Yue Wuxin liked Su Jincheng, but she didn’t do anything to harm anyone else. It was not a sin to have feelings for someone either.

Yue Wuxin knew that Luo Qiqi was worried about her safety, so she suggested for Luo Qiqi and Su Jincheng to wait for her outside the Presidential Estate. They were supposed to think of a back-up plan in case she didn’t emerge after half an hour.

Though unwilling, Luo Qiqi finally relented at Yue Wuxin’s insistence.

Pedrov arrived at the Presidential Estate in the morning.

Some time earlier, he had heard that his daughter was also back in Russia and he wanted to see her badly, but official matters had held him back from doing so.

He wanted to spend some time with his daughter now that he had some free time.

Song Xiaoxiao embraced him as he entered, leading him to a sumptuous-looking breakfast.

“Xiaoxiao, where’s Xin’er? I haven’t seen her in so long. Isn’t she back home?”

“I’m not sure. She left a while ago saying that she was in a bad mood and that she wanted to travel. I tried to make her stay but she refused. So I had no choice but to let her go instead.”

Pedrov nodded, obviously disappointed at what he heard.

“That girl. We’ll just have to wait then!”

“It’s not like she’s never coming back anyway. You’ll have tons of opportunities to meet Wuxin in future. Have your breakfast before it gets cold!”

Song Xiaoxiao watched him eat and drink with a tiny smirk, enjoying her own breakfast as she did so.

After finishing his meal, Pedrov said, “I’m going to the study.”

Song Xiaoxiao nodded, looking at him sweetly.

However, her expression changed instantly when Pedrov turned away.

I’ll show you the price of betrayal. I won’t let you spend your days comfortably!

Though she knew that Pedrov had a mistress in the past, she decided to swallow her pride because of Yue Wuxin. But after finding out that Yue Wuxin was actually the daughter of his mistress, there was no way she could put up with his betrayal anymore.

A hateful glint flashed in her eye at the thought of revenge.

Fearing that someone would interfere with her plans, Song Xiaoxiao had sent all of her subordinates away.

She made her way to the study and saw that Pedrov had already collapsed on the desk, looking like he was in a deep sleep.

You would never have guessed that I drugged you, right?

She smiled to herself as she approached him.

When Pedrov woke up, he felt drained of energy and realized that his hands were tied up.

Though shocked, he was able to calm himself down very quickly.

He looked around him to see nothing but four walls and a door some distance away.

Where am I? Wasn’t I already back at home?

I had breakfast with my wife before going to work on some official matters. What happened after that?

He couldn’t remember a thing.

It was very dark in the room, and it felt like he was in a basement of sorts.

Even so, he had no idea where he was.

He adjusted his breathing to calm himself, thinking, Whoever captured me would have some sort of aim. I’ll just wait for them to show themselves.

There was a disturbance at the door after about half an hour.

Bright light flooded the room when the door opened, and he couldn’t make out who it was.

The individual closed the door and stared at Pedrov, not saying a single word.

“Who are you? Why did you capture me?”

The laughter that followed made it obvious that it was a woman who entered.

He found the voice rather familiar, and before long, the lights in the room were switched on.

The sudden brightness caused Pedrov to squint, and he was taken aback when he opened them to take a better look at the woman.

“Xiaoxiao, what are you doing? Let me go!”

“What am I doing? Take a guess?”

Song Xiaoxiao walked up to him with a smile laced with malice and hatred.

Looking around the room, he realized that it was actually a torture chamber.

Pedrov frowned. I should still be in the Presidential Estate. But I didn’t know such a place existed here. When did Song Xiaoxiao become like this? How could I have not realized it at all?

“Xiaoxiao, when did you become like this! Have you gone mad?!”

“Hahaha...” Song Xiaoxiao started cackling. “I am mad. Pedrov, how could you do that to me? I moved here from so far away, turning my back on my home. You’re the one who forced me into this!”

Song Xiaoxiao’s hysterical behavior gave Pedrov the chills.

“Xiaoxiao, why?”

It’s true that I didn’t spend enough time with her after getting married because of how busy I am with work, but I haven’t let her down in any other way.
