Chapter 111 - Li Kaixin
Li Kaixin appeared stunning in her long crimson camisole dress. Her exquisite makeup and her long fluttering lashes in particular, made her look all more alluring and charming.
Liu Wei grinned at her, "What a coincidence. Why are you here?"
The young missy smiled back at her before taking a seat beside him. The proximity between them, however, was way too close for comfort- an intentional move on her part. Her long, want curls dangled right next to him, and the alluring scent of which waffled in the air.
He was perhaps already a tad to tipsy by then for his eyes fluttered shut as he greedily gave her hair a sniff.
Of course, her hair smelled divine.
At that moment, the heavy, intense music playing overhead suddenly stopped and changed into something romantic and relaxing. .
"Well, I was feeling bored, so I called a few friends of mine to hang out with at the bar" Li Kaixin explained and she looked at Liu Wei, "Brother WeiWei, would you like to have a drink together?"
The question was asked in such a soft and gently manner that her voice sounded absolutely enchanting. The almost drunk man looked at the small palmed faced beside him, her soft smile bewitching him like a charm.
Liu Wei leaned against the couch comfortably. "XinXin, you shouldn't drink. I can remember your dad telling you that before and as an elder brother, I should be responsible for you. You are a lady and would get married one day, you shouldn't spoil your image at this young age"
Liu Wei gave her some piece of advice like an elder brother should do.
The Li and Liu family are like 5 and 6. They were so close that people began to spread rumors about the two families. Liu Wei had acted like her elder brother since she was young and he always supported and protected her.
Upon hearing Liu Wei's words, Li Kaixin's smile froze on her lips. The corner of her lips curled downwards as she showed a sad face.
'Brother WeiWei, I don't want you to be my elder brother, I want you to be the love of my life' her eyes gleamed with tears as sadness clouded her beautiful features.
Four years ago, Li Kaixin decided to go all out to confess her love for Liu Wei on her graduation day. Despite knowing that she was not supposed to as she knew that he was already in a relationship with another woman.
She had loved him for a long time, but decided to keep it to herself. She didn't have the courage to go up to him face to face and tell it to his face that she loved him. She believed that she was the right person for Liu Wei.
Li Kaixin also have a story.
Li Kaixin, the young missy of the Li family is a twenty something years old woman who could get whatever she wanted with just a single word from her mouth. The Li family which was the sixth wealthiest and strongest family in G.City whose network is over millions of Yuan. The Li family had four kids; Li Hongfeng, Li Baiwei, Li Donghai, Li Kaixin who is, of course, the fourth child and the last born of her parents.
It was said that when Li Kaixin was being given birth to, her parents were already old. This, this made Li Kaixin weak at birth and as a child. However, this didn't make them give up on her. Instead, it made her gain more love and favour from both her parents and siblings.
At a very young age, Li Kaixin was taken to the U.S for exclusive treatment because of her health issues. Mrs. Li Li cried day and night as she watched her sick, weak daughter on the bed with various tubes attached to her small delicate body.
"Li Kaixin had a fragile heart and must not overwork her heart. She must not be too anxious, happy, sad or experience love as this might add lot of pressure to her heart which might lead to death"
The doctor's words were like timing bomb that was dropped unexpectedly on Mrs. Li. Her heart was grief and she couldn't accept the fact that her daughter couldn't fall in love. The heart of this mother sank deeply into the ocean of sadness when she thought of her daughter's situation.
Therefore, this made them take extra care of Li Kaixin. They did everything she wanted as long as it made her happy, but what they were avoiding was that she mustn't fall in love. If she were to fall in love, she might as well receive heartbeat which would complicate her health and her parents were avoiding that.
Thus, they sent her to the U.S to study under the care of her second aunt and uncle. They made sure she never attended night parties or go to the club. What she did was go to school and study- she had not free time for herself.
When she graduated, she planned on confessing her love to Liu Wei. The moment she got to G.City, the first person she went to see was Liu Wei.
However, what she saw was a girl who had her arms wrapped around Liu Wei and her head rested on his shoulders. She had thick eyebrows and her eyes were sparkling. Her beautiful phoenix eyes were slender, charming and full of affection. She wore a simple white shirt and a pair of jeans and a pair of white and black sneakers. She looked like she was around 17 or 18 years of age.
Her mercury-red hair was played with by Liu Wei as he smiled affectionately at her.
Upon seeing the scene, Li Kaixin's face paled and her heart shattered into a million pieces. She bit her lips nervously as she was at loss of words and what to do.
She returned home and locked herself in her room for days without food or water. This complicated her health and she almost lost her life. Her parents got worried and inquired what was wrong with her.
Instead, she kept mute and cried her eyes out like a baby. This heart wrenching scene broke her parents heart and decided to look into the matter.
Years later when Liu Wei took Xiao li to the alter and made their marriage vows, Li Kaixin stood at the door and watched the scene.
She pursed her lips and tears flowed out of her eyes like stream. This was the happiest moment of Liu Wei's life, but she was sad. She had already wished for her to be the woman who would stand with Liu Wei on the alter, say their marriage vows, exchange rings and kiss, but it didn't come true.
She soon realised that Liu Wei was not in love with her and was not the man for her.
With a slow pace, she turned her back against the church and walked away.
She wished the best of him in his marriage life.
