Chapter 339 336- A Massive Miscalculation
Mo Rong snorted before he turned his head away from Fang Chen. He then remained silent not answering Fang Chen’s question.
“You unscrupulous thing, you have no qualms seeing my memories but you refuse to let me see yours?”
Fang Chen suddenly said.
But despite Fang Chen cursing at him, Mo Rong still remained silent and didn’t even bother turning his head to look at him.
Fang Chen wasn’t one to ask questions a second time and it was obvious Mo Rong didn’t want to speak with him. Since he was ignoring him, Fang Chen would do the same.
However, as time passed and Fang Chen began looking around in this void, he realize that was harder than he thought.
After walking in all directions and finding nothing, Fang Chen came back in front of Mo Rong and asked.
“Where are we and how do I get out?”
Fang Chen waited for an entire day, but Mo Rong was still giving him the silent treatment.
Fang Chen let out a sigh, he decided to calm down and try to recall the last memories he had of the outside world.
The only thing he could recall after having his vision go black, was Li Shen gaining the upper hand against Mo Rong, but after being backed against the corner, Mo Rong decided to absorb the red fog.
After which he released a shockwave that sent Li Shen flying away. Fang Chen didn’t have any memory after that. But he could still remember the emotions that were running through Mo Rong at that time as they were connected somewhat.
Mo Rong was scared, and he was filled with anxiousness to go back to his home.
Fang Chen thought back on Mo Rong’s memories he saw. He couldn’t believe such a strange place existed that had not one human around. He felt like he shouldn’t identify them as demonic beasts with their characteristics and supposed intelligence, but he had no other way to call them.
Fang Chen wonder where that place was.
As Fang Chen sunk into his thoughts, Mo Rong took this time to glance at him.
Seeing that Fang Chen was just standing there in thought, Mo Rong didn’t bother with him and looked away.
If Fang Chen was a bit more scheming in nature, he would realize Mo Rong’s silence wasn’t so simple. He was actually waiting for something to happen.
Mo Rong’s eyes went back to observe the expansive void in front of him. In his vision, the void warped and contorted before the image of the outside world came into view.
Lightning, that was the only thing Mo Rong could see.
The entire world seemed to be engulfed in lighting as dark clouds filled the entire sky.
In the middle of this terrifying rain of lightning tribulation that seemed to have the strength to slaughter gods and immortals, there was a silhouette that was valiantly going against it.
This figure had a large dark wormhole behind him that was rotating at unimaginable speeds. Even as the deadly lightning tribulation fell on it, the bolts of lightning simply disperse before being swallowed by it.
But even this weird wormhole that Mo Rong found strange couldn’t block all the lightning.
Despite watching this for who knows how long now, Mo Rong could not help but feel his scalp go numb and his figurative heart let out a thud.
‘How can there be a monster like him in this backwater place? Even if he is a Godling, I have never heard of a Godling going through such a deadly tribulation so early in their cultivation before.’
Even though Mo Rong didn’t have his full memory of his past, he was sure an event like this had never happened before in the Celestial Realm. It was just too absurd!
This lightning tribulation wasn’t simple, it didn’t seem like a normal Heavenly Tribulation that was sent to test a Godling and would have benefits if passed. It seemed like the Heavenly Tribulation was hell-bent on killing this youth no matter what.
Even Heavenly Tribulations that mortal humans go through after cultivating using their own system, weren’t anything like this.
Either this person was a terrifying genius to trigger this type of tribulation, or the Heavens deemed him a threat so great it wanted him dead by all means.
Maybe both?
Mo Rong couldn’t tell the passage of time in this place, but this tribulation must have been going on for nearly three days at most. It showed no signs of stopping, and even seemed to be getting stronger.
Mo Rong was able to see the outside world despite his soul being separated from Fang Chen’s body because his consciousness and soul were much stronger than Fang Chen’s.
He could tell Fang Chen’s body was inside this tribulation as well, but was being protected from the lightning by that Godling.
Mo Rong saw this as a godsend opportunity as if this situation continued, Fang Chen’s condition would deteriorate further. Soon his soul would dissipate, leaving his body to be occupied by him once again.
But as Mo Rong watch this Heavenly Tribulation, he was sure that Godling would fail and his soul would be destroyed along with this boy’s body.
In the outside world, Li Shen’s wound riddle and charred body continue to fight against the lightning tribulation.
After nearly three days of this, his already exhausted body was even more so. His head felt like it was going to split in two as he forcefully use his Divine Will to conjure Sword Qi and shields to fight against the bolts of lightning as thick as two adult humans.
The rate at which his law manipulation conjure Sword Qi, couldn’t keep up with the rate of the lightning bolts falling.
Even his Qi Sea couldn't fully take all the bolts of lightning for him, leftovers would strike towards him. Li Shen wondered how he would have faced this tribulation if his Qi Sea wasn’t with him.
But no matter how bad of a shape he was in, Yang Su and the others were directly beneath him. If he faltered the tribulation will target them.
‘It’s my fault, I put them in this situation because of my carelessness.’
Back in the dimension when Li Shen broke into the Sea Expansion Realm to the Foundation Realm, after which he surpassed all the minor realms at breakneck speed to stop at the peak of the Foundation Realm. There was no Heavenly Tribulation.
Li Shen didn’t question it and had completely neglected that one crucial fact.
‘How could I have been so stupid to make such a massive miscalculation?’
