Chapter 245: Why did you run away? (2)
Chapter 245: Why did you run away? (2)
Kwahng! Kwahng!
The vast desert in Australia!
The Great Sandy Desert, where the Capricorn’s holy ground was located!
The holy land of tens of thousands of master craftsmen!
The World Workshop was in an uproar.
“Koo-oohk! What’s going on?”
“It’s an emergency!”
A bombardment was raining down on them from somewhere in the sky. The beam of light was like a laser. The bombardment continued as it flew through the night sky, as if it planned on destroying the World Workshop.
Boom! Boom!
The master craftsmen were basically the building’s residents, so they were frightened of their wits!
“It’s an attack!”
“The dome is broken!”
They continued to hold on to the shaking buildings. When they looked up into the sky, they saw a shining light.
The master craftsmen ground their teeth.
“Is it a flying-type monster?”
“No! It isn’t a monster!”
“What?! What is it then?”
“Its power is similar to the power of the gods…!”
“What? It’s a god?!”
Chris, one of the top master craftsmen of the Capricorn temple, furrowed his brows when he received the report from his subordinate.
Chris was the third in line within Capricorn temple, serving the Capricorn Saint Sergeyevich and the Ten Star Taylor. He was a master craftsman who specialized in accessory-type holy items, and he was one of the star master craftsmen who had participated in the manufacturing battle against Lee Gun. He had done so alongside the defensive-gear specialist Taylor.
Chris had been tasked with defending the holy ground instead of Taylor, who had gone to ask Lee Gun to accept them as students.
Chris furrowed his brows.
‘Shit! These aren’t monsters. Gods are attacking humanity’s workshop?’
His reaction was understandable since the twelve Zodiacs had made several absolute agreements. One of these agreements was a nonaggression pact.
It was a pact that said they’d never attack locations that would cause a profound effect on the survivability of humanity.
While each of the twelve Zodiacs had different interests, they had a basic understanding that they existed to protect humanity.
‘The World Workshop is where all the weapons and equipment that’ll help humanity survive are made!’
The World Workshop going down meant the destruction of humanity. So who was attacking this place?
“What are you guys doing? Raise your weapons!”
“That’s right! We can’t let them destroy the location where we’ll host Lee Gun-nim!”
Yes, half of the master craftsmen had fallen for Lee Gun at first sight. They had started making a Lee Gun Workshop. They were clamoring to bring in Lee Gun instead of the missing Capricorn.
“Ooh-ohhhhhh! Lee Gun is the great manufacturer god! How can a magician or a warrior become the Zodiac of manufacturing?”
“That’s right! We have to bring Lee Gun-nim as our Zodiac!”
Chris also yelled as enemies entered the tower. “Protect the holy ground that’ll host Lee Gun-nim!!”
Hearing Chris, the conservative master craftsmen cursed.
“Hey, Chris! As a master craftsman of the Genius workshop, don’t be an instigator for strange ideas!”
“Our Zodiac Saint is gone. The Ten Star who’s supposed to be in charge of the temple has fallen for Lee Gun. You shouldn’t act this way as the third in line!”
“That’s right! We heard Lee Gun-nim was excellent, but he probably has only the know-how to make a couple of weapons!”
“The Capricorn made Drachma and this tower! How dare you compare it to a human!”
Chris unsheathed his drill. “Shut up! Just protect it for now! We are still connected to our Zodiac’s power!”
“That’s right! Don’t look down on us because we aren’t fighters!”
There was a reason these craftsmen could fight monsters.
The enemies were sent flying out of the tower, one by one.
Kwahng!!
Clank!
“Kuh-huhk!”
But then, the weapons that they held were ruthlessly destroyed. At the same time, ghosts started sticking their heads through the broken windows.
“Kuh-huhk!”
The smell of blood instantly permeated throughout the tower as the tower descended into hell.
“Ahhhk! What are they?”
“Are they Constructs?”
“No! They are different from the Constructs! Ahhhk!”
The interior of the tower turned into a scene of carnage, and the number of enemies increased.
When enemies started dragging out the master craftsmen, Chirs ground his teeth. The other master craftsmen shook in fear.
“Shit! This is the end for all of us!”
“That’s right! Why should we serve Lee Gun as our Zodiac? What can he do?”
“It was all nonsense from the beginning…!”
At that moment…
Doo-doo-doohk!
“!!”
It sounded as if heaven and earth were ringing. All the master craftsmen shook.
“W-What the hell is that sound?”
At the same time, those who had looked out the window started to foam at their mouths. The intruder gods were surprised as well.
It was like watching the land of an immortal descend as it parted the clouds. Moreover, the object coming down from among the clouds looked familiar.
“C-Can it be!”
They saw something resembling a ship’s anchor hanging from chains. Then there were the long pillars.
[Floaty (previously Drachma) (EX)]
“Ahhk! That’s nuts! That’s Drachma, which Lee Gun took!”
Yes, Lee Gun had summoned Drachma.
“I… Its appearance has changed?”
“W… What the hell is that?”
Drachma had been created by the Capricorn, and the master craftsmen had applied the finishing touches. Although the flying castle’s appearance had changed, they naturally recognized it.
“D-Didn’t Lee Gun take it, saying he’ll be remodeling it?”
“Yes…!”
The jaws of the master craftsmen almost became unhinged when their mouths fell open. The castle’s appearance wasn’t the only thing that had changed.
“No way! Why is it so big?!”
Yes, the new Drachma descending from the sky looked like an enormous battleship with no end in sight!
Koo-goo-goo!
It was so large that it could almost cover the entirety of the vast desert. Of course, the previous Drachma under the management of the twelve Zodiacs wasn’t small either. But it was about as large as an amusement park and shaped like a circle with buildings embedded in it.
Now, it was a different story.
Koo-goo-goo!
The new Drachma had an elongated shape. It looked like a sky ship that would travel through heaven and earth! That wasn’t all.
“T-That’s crazy. While he was remodeling it, he changed the material Drachma is made with?”
Since these master craftsmen were in charge of repairing Drachma, they knew its structure. That was why they reared back in shock.
“What the hell! In the past, it used to be made out of earth! Did he line it with steel?”
“Steel? There is no way that’s steel! Can’t you tell just by looking at it?”
“What is it? Where did he get such an amazing mineral?”
The master craftsmen started to foam at their mouths when they checked the flying castle.
“Ahhhk!! That’s the Cancer!”
“That crazy bastard! Lee Gun used the Cancer as an ingredient!”
“W-What?!”
“That’s crazy! Lee Gun made a new Drachma!”
The master craftsmen who had disparaged Lee Gun before couldn’t shut their mouths.
Chris laughed at this. “So who has a limited ability to make weapons?”
“That’s not—”
“In the first place, he’s someone who made a weapon using the Leo’s tooth. It’s easy for him to make such a thing.”
“What?! Leo?!”
“Wow! From the looks of it, Drachma’s offensive capabilities are no joke.”
“What? It’s a floating castle. Why would it have offensive capabilities? Stop talking nonsense—”
Before the master craftsman could finish, a light erupted from Drachma. Then, a boom rang out!
Kwahng!!!
It sounded like a missile being launched.
The master craftsmen looked at Drachma at the same time, and the sight left them shocked.
“What the hell! I thought it looked like a battleship. He really equipped Drachma with weapons?!”
Drachma was newly equipped with cannons. It seemed Lee Gun had used all the ingredients that he had gathered until now.
Drachma once again fired its laser cannon!
Kwahng!
The energy of the Zodiacs stored within the castle was mixed with Lee Gun’s magical energy, and it exploded on the enemies
Kwah-kwah-gwahng!
[“Made from Crab Shell” is overjoyed.]
[“Made from Crab Shell” is eating other weapons to grow.]
Black tentacles appeared from the cannons set up on the edges of Drachma. The tentacles entered the castle through the broken windows and ate all the broken weapons of the Capricorn disciples.
One could see the small cannons grow a bit before they fired once again!
Kwahng!
[Serpent Bearer EXP has increased.]
[Serpent Bearer’s reputation has increased.]
[It won’t be long before you reach Level 30.]
The attacks swept away the unknown pawns that had gathered inside the tower.
The Capricorn disciple could only open and close their mouths.
“Aren’t those our weapons…!”
“Were they always able to generate such power?”
“The way Drachma is used… Didn’t it change too much?”
However, it was too early to be in awe.
“Kyaahhhk! Lee Gun-nim jumped off the tower!”
“He jumped down onto Drachma!”
“!”
Was this the reason he had summoned it?
Drachma had been steadily moving toward the ground when it stopped, and Lee Gun jumped down on top of it.
The master craftsmen took up their weapons.
“I see! Lee Gun-nim plans to defeat the enemies by using Drachma!”
“We have to help him!”
“Uh? Wait a moment!”
“!”
“T-The item slung over Lee Gun-nim’s shoulder! Can it be…”
“Isn’t that the Capricorn’s throne that is supposed to be within the tower?!”
“What?!”
* * *
He was on top of Drachma.
The dumbfounded Kevin looked at Lee Gun. Aside from Drachma being turned into a fortress, his reaction had to do with the item Lee Gun was holding.
“You… When did you get that item…”
There was no mistaking it. The item sticking out from Lee Gun’s sack was the throne of the Capricorn temple.
Of course, the legs of the chair, as well as its back, were gone. Only the seat was left. It was an odd sight, but that wasn’t important right now.
“How were you able to bring that….”
“How else? I brought it here after I took my hammer to it.”
“Is that the reason it has no legs?
“How were you able to destroy and take that throne with you? Only the Capricorn is supposed to be allowed to approach it…”
How else?
Lee Gun laughed as he took out something. “I acquired these things from the Capricorn.”
“!”
What he took out was the red goat’s horn and a roll of paper (blueprints).
“Since I have these, it mistook me for the Capricorn.”
“!”
The Seat of power had made a mistake since both Lee Gun and the Capricorn were manufacturers.
“That’s why it tried to go back to sleep, so I took my hammer to its body.”
That had caused the broken throne to try to activate its protection ability, but…
‘I stole it using a skill.’
Lee Gun turned to Hailey. “I borrowed the Scorpio temple’s Steal skill. It was a VVIP skill. Thank you!”
“…!!”
When Lee Gun laughed, Hailey turned her head away as her face turned red.
Her prep work seemed to have been effective. She hadn’t fallen unconscious this time.
“Anyway, the gods will no longer attack that place, since they are aiming for this throne.”
Kevin’s eyes turned round. He had been wondering why Lee Gun had stolen something, which wasn’t his style.
“You are trying to lure the enemies.” That wasn’t all. “Did you call in Drachma because you didn’t want normal land to be affected?” Kevin’s mouth fell open.
Lee Gun grinned. “That’s part of the reason, but I also have yet to acquire the Capricorn’s core.”
“!”
“It ran away before I could acquire its core.”
“We should track it down…!”
“I tried to, but it seems the Aries took the Capricorn.”
“What?!”
“Yang Wei, who was also a captive in our holy ground, ran away too.”
“What?! How was Yang Wei able to pull that off?”
Lee Gun laughed in contempt. “How else? Since his Zodiac had appeared, he ran away by putting his life on the line. His Contract with his Zodiac was broken, but he probably wants to make the contract again.”
Kevin and Hailey looked at Lee Gun as if to ask how he could let Yang Wei get away. However, they had a realization when they saw Lee Gun’s expression.
‘This bastard let him get away on purpose. He acted like he didn’t see Yang Wei.’
It seemed their assumption was correct.
Lee Gun let out a savage laugh.
[Warning! The nameless gods from the outside are aiming for the seat of the Serpent Bearer.]
Lee Gun contemptuously laughed when he heard the notification. He then tapped the ground of Drachma. “Chase it. It’s somewhere you know very well.”
As if answering to his words, the enormous flying castle started to move.
* * *
Around that time, the Aries was taking deep breaths. It had been the first one to realize the return of the Serpent Bearer, and it had run away realizing the dangers.
‘If Lee Gun is alive, we are all dead.’
This had a deep connection to the secret they were trying to hide. Therefore, the Aries had kept the main gods in the dark, as it called for the outer gods.
The Aries gnashed its teeth. The fault lay with the monarchs, who failed to do their jobs properly.
‘If they had killed that snake bastard at that time, this would have never happened!’
Because of them, the thirteenth awakened being had appeared for nothing. Someone like Lee Gun had been created!
However, that wasn’t what Aries truly feared; it didn’t fear the power of the snake that Lee Gun had acquired.
The Aries wouldn’t be running away like a madman if that was true. It had run away for only one reason.
‘The Serpent Bearer.’
There was no denying it.
‘That bastard Lee Gun….’
Boom!
Suddenly, someone appeared behind Aries.
