Chapter 153: He heard her saying the exact same thing to the person that he disliked so much. “Big Brother Zhe, have a piece of candy.” (1)
Lin Yiyi’s brain felt like remnants after a firework show…
First, it was a string of explosions, then a ground covered in garbage!
She had played through many scenarios in her head in the past. She wanted to be the ground troop that cleared out all obstacles standing in the way of her two children.
She wanted to make sure that they would be strong enough to defend themselves or have the ability to get out of the situation before they ran into the original male and female leads of the story.
All in all, she hadn’t expected that they’d met right now. It was much sooner than she had anticipated.
Lu. Ming. Zhe!
With stiffness in her neck, she turned to look at the young man that was the original male lead of the novel.
Lu Mingzhe had both hands shoved inside of his pants’ pockets and a look of casualness but what startled her was…
The killer’s intent coming from him!
“Your nephew’s name is Lu Mingzhe?” Lin Yiyi was very unhappy.
Lu Xun, very baffled, nodded.
All of a sudden, his hands were empty. The little girl that was in his chest was ripped away from him.
Lu Xun, “……”
Lin Yiyi quickly took her instant daughter back from him. As though she was running away from some crazies, she took a few steps back until there was a safe distance between her and the uncle and nephew duo…
Even so, she still felt very unsafe. She had no idea where her strength came from, but somehow, she was able to hold Meng Shanshan in one hand and grab a fishing pole in the other.
Lu Xun had no idea what was wrong with her.
He looked over at her hand and looked at the fishing pole that has the potential of turning into a “weapon” at any given point in time. He started judging Old Gu in his head.
Didn’t he know to put his fishing pole away after he came home? This could be very dangerous, alright?
“What are you guys doing?” There was an obvious curiosity in Gu Chengyi’s voice.
Yup. It was true that one should never badmouth someone else.
Lu Xun was just grumbling about Old Gu, and he showed up on the top of the stairs the very next second.
Gu Chengyi poked his head out from the staircase and saw Lin Yiyi, with Meng Shanshan in her arm, facing Lu Xun and his nephew in front of her…
“Oh, is that my fishing pole.” Mr. Gu seemed relieved. He walked down the stairs quickly and took the fishing pole from Lin Yiyi. “I have been looking for it. So this is where I had left it.”
The old man was pretty oblivious. He happily returned upstairs with his fishing pole.
Coming from upstairs, they could even hear Ms. Lin Ping’s very loud grumbling sound.
All in all, after his interruption, the intense atmosphere had been somewhat diverted.
Lin Yiyi wasn’t as alarmed as she was earlier.
Yet…
This was Lu Mingzhe! She needed to tread cautiously!
Lin Yiyi dropped her daughter off on the stairs to go and play with her brother before she turned around and crossed her arms in front of her chest.
“How come you never mentioned that your nephew’s name is Lu Mingzhe?”
Lu Xun was fairly surprised as well. “Eh? You didn’t know?”
How the heck would I know if you’ve never mentioned it?!
How’d she known that “Zhe, Zhe….” Was Lu Mingzhe?
Had she known earlier…
She should have poisoned the food when she went to cook at their place last time!
Lin Yiyi gave him a stare.
She looked away from Lu Xun bit by bit until she was looking squarely at Lu Mingzhe. Then, she gave him a stare.
Lu Mingzhe had no idea why she gave him a stare out of the blue.
Lu Xun asked Lu Mingzhe to go play with Meng Yuran upstairs.
Lu Mingzhe wasn’t thrilled about it, but he could tell the two needed to talk to each other. Besides…
It’s an awful sin to be the third wheel in someone’s romance.
The young man frowned a little and reluctantly headed upstairs.
Lin Yiyi stared at his back intensely. She wondered if it was too late to poison him now.
She wanted to stop Lu Mingzhe from coming into contact with her two children, but before she could take any action, Lu Xun had already grabbed her by her wrist and said in a low voice, “I need to talk to you.”
