Chapter 322 - 322 Valley Of The Scorching Sun
As Edward spoke, he continued to walk past Shen Fei.
Shen Fei stared at Edward’s back, and his eyes flashed with determination. He had to make this trip! No matter what price he had to pay, he had to obtain this opportunity!
Shen Fei followed Edward and arrived at a secret room. The secret room was very spacious, and the decorations were gorgeous.
In the middle of the secret room was a coffin. The coffin was about ten feet high and dark brown in color. It was made of metal and gave off an ominously black light.
Shen Fei’s eyes narrowed as he looked at the coffin. He could faintly feel a terrifying pressure coming from it.
Who was lying in the coffin?
“It’s not too late for you to back out now. Once you step into this secret room, it will be the point of no return.” Edward’s tone was very calm, but his eyes were firmly watching Shen Fei, as if he was warning Shen Fei about something.
‘I expect nothing less from the Lord Mayor,’ Shen Fei praised in his heart. “Lead the way!” he said.
Edward snorted. Then, he stomped with his right foot. The space around him trembled slightly, and a dark vortex appeared.
“What is this?” Shen Fei was a little surprised.
“This passage leads to the Valley Of The Scorching Sun.” Edward glanced at Shen Fei and continued, “If you insist on going in, then I advise you to be well prepared. Your life will be in danger.”
“Hehe, I’m not afraid of danger.” Shen Fei chuckled.
He had already made his decision. Even if this mission was dangerous, he had to give it a try. Otherwise, he would regret it in the future.
Hearing Shen Fei’s words, Edward nodded and waved his right hand. That pitch-black vortex suddenly expanded several times. At the same time, a suction force came from it, causing Shen Fei to close his eyes.
When he opened his eyes again, he found himself near a pool of lava.
The heat waves were roiling hot, and the scorching temperature caused Shen Fei to quickly become drenched in sweat. Moreover, Shen Fei could clearly feel that the scorching lava was constantly rushing toward him, as if it wanted to corrode his skin.
“Is this the Valley Of The Scorching Sun?” Shen Fei’s pupils suddenly contracted. He realized that the valley was actually filled with dense heaven-and-earth elements.
‘The density of the heaven-and-earth elements here is comparable to a low mystic-tier spirit weapon.’ Shen Fei’s face revealed a trace of joy.
Although these natural elements were of no use to him, they could help the Flame Owl increase its cultivation speed!
“Roar!” Suddenly, an angry roar came from the lava. Then, a wolf-like creature covered in red scales charged out from it.
Its body was six meters long and burned with scorching flames. Its eyes, in particular, emitted dark green flames.
The moment it appeared, it locked onto Shen Fei.
“Be careful! This spirit beast is called the Flame Wolf. It’s a Count-rank spirit beast! The fire spirit herb behind it is exactly what you need. I wish you good luck.” After saying this, Edward disappeared.
Shen Fei’s gaze locked onto the fire spirit herb behind the Flame Wolf.
The fire spirit herb was barely more than a meter tall. Its surface was red, and it looked like it was filled with demonic essence.
The Flame Wolf let out a low roar and leaped toward Shen Fei. Its movements were swift and agile, and the moment its four limbs touched the ground, it leaped seven to eight meters into the air. It opened its mouth and bit at Shen Fei.
Seeing the Flame Wolf coming toward him, Shen Fei frowned and stomped on the ground. The entire valley suddenly trembled. Immediately after that, Shen Fei’s body rose into the air. After doing a few somersaults, his right leg straightened out and was brought down on the Flame Wolf in a chopping kick.
Shen Fei’s right leg ruthlessly smashed into the Flame Wolf’s chest, sending it five to six meters away and smashing into the rock wall behind it.
“Whine!” The Flame Wolf howled in pain. Then, it stood up and charged at Shen Fei again.
Shen Fei’s face was cold as he clenched his fists. Then, he lifted his right leg and kicked the Flame Wolf again. With a dull sound, the Flame Wolf was sent flying back into the wall again.
“Whine!” the Flame Wolf gasped and looked at Shen Fei with a frightened expression.
“It’s my turn.” Shen Fei’s figure burst forward. With a wave of his right arm, a violent gale swept out, blowing up a cloud of sand and dust.
Shen Fei quickly arrived in front of the Flame Wolf like a bolt of lightning. He clenched his right hand into a claw-like form and slammed it down.
Forgetting its earlier fear, the Flame Wolf became angered by the human in front of it. It roared and stretched out its claws as well.
Upon seeing this, Shen Fei summoned the Flame Owl. “Flame Owl, stall the wolf!”
After Shen Fei said that, he hurriedly dodged and flew aside to observe. He was not stupid. If he were to fight it head-on, it would be impossible for him to win against this powerful Count-rank spirit beast. As for the reason why Shen Fei allowed the Flame Owl to help him, it was also to use this opportunity to train the Flame Owl’s combat skills.
Sure enough, just as Shen Fei dodged the Flame Wolf’s attack, a violent ear-piercing sound came from the Flame Owl’s abdomen. A ball of red flame gushed out from the Flame Owl’s stomach, turning into a sea of fire that surged toward the Flame Wolf.
Seeing this, the Flame Wolf’s eyes turned scarlet, and its body burst into flames. It let out a long howl into the sky and then charged at the flames.
The Flame Wolf and the Flame Owl’s fire collided, and a series of earth-shaking explosions rang out. Shock waves rippled out from the point of impact and wreaked havoc everywhere.
“Flame Owl, Flaming Bramble Inferno!” Shen Fei shouted.
Whoosh!
The Flame Owl opened its mouth, and thorny brambles whizzed out, firmly wrapping around the Flame Wolf.
Crackle! With a crisp sound, the bramble cracked and shattered.
The Flame Wolf broke free of its restraints and howled at the sky before pouncing at the Flame Owl with unparalleled ferocity.
The Flame Owl’s eyes flashed. It flapped its wings and swooped down, its huge beak pecking at the Flame Wolf.
Bang! Bang!
The two collided, and the Flame Owl and the Flame Wolf both retreated. The Flame Wolf was bleeding from the corner of its mouth. It had been injured in the last exchange.
“Hotel!” The Flame Wolf howled in anger, and the flames on its body became even more violent. The next moment, the Flame Wolf leaped up and leaped at the Flame Owl in the air.
The Flame Owl’s body shot down like a cannonball. Its wings flapped, creating a terrifying hurricane that blew up another cloud of dust.
