Chapter 363 Abandoned Again?-3
" What?!" Ben exclaimed.
" What do you mean by intentional harassment of women?"
Mason looked at the person who started making a fuss just hearing Glenn's alleged charges.
" I am his father, Ben Bailey. Did you mean what you just said? How did it become like this? Where is the proof?" Ben was very anxious; if such things came to light to the public, both his and his son's reputation would be ruined.
"Your son Ben is suspected of harassing Miss Liliana; we have conclusive evidence and bystanders' statements, and for the other things, his friends were very cooperative in that regard. We need to investigate more to get to the bottom of it, but we can't reveal it right now." Mason didn't pay much attention to Ben's aggressiveness.
Ben was furious; looking at his son's messed up face, he wanted to beat him up more! Glenn really had shit for brains; why did he ever approach someone like Liliana in the first place!
Samuel didn't feel much; they could argue that the police treatment was unfair considering the crime, but how could he just let him go after he tried to harm Liliana? Wasn't it the parent's job to educate their kids? He guessed Ben didn't do a good job of it.
" Young master, please, can there be any other solution? What if he really wanted to invite Miss Liliana in good faith?"
Hearing Ben's shameless explanation, everyone couldn't help but roll their eyes. With good intentions? Was he serious? Anyone could tell there was nothing good about this person! No wonder the kid was this arrogant; his father was completely blind to his wrongdoings.
Wiping his butt every turn of life, why not he be this spoiled?
" That's-" Arthur wanted to say something, but he got interrupted by an incoming police officer.
" Sir, we did a body search on two of them and found some pills. It looks like roofies, the rape drug, but just to make sure, we are bringing it back to the lab for further examination."
It was explosive news; everyone felt it when the room temperature dropped a few degrees. Samuel was angry; whatever shred of sympathy he had for Glenn was gone.
" Are you sure?" Mason asked; the case got a lot more serious.
" We have seen plenty of these pills before, so we are fairly certain." The officer said with confidence.
" Then, it's not suspected harassment, but it could be judged as attempted intent to harm?" Mason made sure Ben heard him.
Samuel's face was cold; he stared at Ben like a dead man. What did it mean to bring hallucinogens with them to a meal?
Fortunately, He stepped early; otherwise, who knew what these dogs were up to? It was good it came to light because Samuel took this incident lightly. If he had known, he would have kicked him between his legs and ensured this never happened.
" Sir, it's not found on my son; it was his friends! My son may not know about it?" Ben completely panicked. He never thought things would go out of hand like this. Knowing Samuel's family, they would give his son hell knowing these things.
And he was right to think so; the prisoners were prone to accidents regularly. Who knew what would happen to Glenn inside?
"Mr Bailey, I know it is a possibility. I will take your word for it but don't count on it. Whether he is guilty or not will all be revealed when we have evidence to prove it. If your son really doesn't know, we will not be ruthless. You have to believe in the justice system." Mason's words were righteous and selfless, but Mason didn't believe them.
It had already come to light; he suspected that Glenn's friends would give him up because they had to save their skin! The charges would be devastating if Glenn was found to be the mastermind behind this.
Ben was sure about it because this was not the first time his son got into such a mess; how could he not know about it? He helped him drop charges several times, but this time, the opponent was too much for him.
" This. Young master. Please, give him a way to survive. Have some mercy! I will be sure to discipline him later." He knew if Samuel did press charges, it would be over.
Looking at the old man begging for mercy before his eyes, Samuel kept a straight face and said nothing. He might have considered a lighter punishment if no drugs were involved, but he was never this compassionate with his enemies.
It might also not be their first time with how confident they were. It was baffling to imagine how many more victims had been abused by this group of scum.
" I only believe in the justice system of the US. I will leave it in your hand, Mr. Mason." If it was up to Samuel, he would have directly sentenced him to death, but he had to maintain some law and order.
"Alright, we will see you in court then." Ben didn't have anything else to say; the situation was irreversible for the most part.
He believed American law was still fair; no one had the final say. When the time came, he would sue everyone for all he cared, creating buzz implicating Samuel's family.
The bigger the family was, the more things they had to lose when their reputation was on the line. He was about to leave the hotel to find help; he knew a few people from the underground who might know the best course of action.
He would try to bail his son out first.
" Dad, you can't leave me here." Glenn, who saw his father leaving, cried out; he was anxious. He didn't know what they were talking about, but he saw everything from far, the drugs, his father begging, and now he was leaving without even talking with him?
The more he thought about it, the more horrible Glenn felt. He didn't want to go to jail because he had heard plenty of horror stories about prison.
They were extremely 'fond' of people of his deposition, soft and tender, and if they ever found out about his charges, he was sure to face hell or might even get killed by some fanatic. This couldn't possibly be the end of his life!
Ben heard his son's cry, but he couldn't say anything. He didn't have any good solutions; seeing him now would make him emotional. He didn't have time for that; he needed to be cool-headed to develop countermeasures!
" Dad, don't go. Can't you help me settle it like you did previously? Didn't those women also go to the police? Please save me." Damn! What the fuck? Ben didn't know what to do; his son had lost his mind spewing everything!
Glenn's voice was loud; everyone heard it, along with the police. Several gasps escaped from the public's mouths looking at this scene.
But the most upset was Ben, he couldn't believe it. Before he could reach the door, he was chased by two LA police officers; one tied his hand back while the other grabbed his shoulders.
" Hehe, Mr Bailey, it's unfortunate, but you just became a vital suspect in this case. You must come with us now, and we need your full cooperation." Mason said. He didn't expect Glenn to bite the hand that fed him this way.
Now both father and son were in handcuffs, ready to be transported to the station. No one expected such a magical operation; it felt like some movie scene where an idiot son reported his father!
Ben and Glenn were led into the police van; Glenn was still crying inside it. When Ben looked at his son, he had to realize the mistakes he made with him. He wanted to scold him, but he didn't know how? Had he ever done that?
He had also become a suspect, so who could help him? His wife? Their relationship was just for the show, but now he was sure she would divorce him and take over his business. He was sure she would never associate herself with him after this.
She was, after all, his second wife; Glenn was not even her son, so her saving him was out of the option. He realized what he had been doing for the past few decades was for nothing. He had nothing to show for it.
Samuel and Liliana were also stunned by this incident. Samuel didn't have to do anything; the god was helping him.
It would be explosive news for the industry tomorrow, but now that the trash had taken itself out voluntarily, Samuel had nothing to do with it.
Liliana, who stood beside Samuel, also sighed; she realized the meeting would probably have to be postponed.
