Chapter 573: Relationship Progress, the Fall of a Top-Tier Celebrity (1)
It was only after the emergence of fan culture that terms like “popularity” began to circulate.
A “top-tier celebrity” signified a star of immense fame, or in simpler terms, a walking, talking trending topic.
However, not all top-tier celebrities were created equal.
The true and unparalleled top-tier was undoubtedly Yun Lan. Even using the term “top-tier” in relation to her seems like an insult.
No one else remained as beloved by countless fans during a five-year hiatus from the screen as Yun Lan.
Xu Jianian’s rise to fame relied on the support of girlfriend and wife fans.
The same was for other top-tier male and female celebrities, where looks were the primary factor.
Su Yang, however, was different.
While Su Yang was indeed handsome, his talent was such that people overlook his looks and physique.
As for Xu Jianian and other top-tier actors in the film industry, their acting skills were decent at best.
While love affairs were private matters, when one’s career was built on fan support, the feelings of those fans must be considered.
These photos, if leaked, could demolish Xu Jianian’s status as a top-tier celebrity.
“Boss, did you catch who that woman was?” a junior paparazzo asked, “She was wearing a mask and had her back to us; we couldn’t tell who she was.”
“They’re definitely going to eat,” the lead speculated, squinting. “Even if they’re in a private room, there will be moments without masks, and we’ll get our shot. ”
“I’m dying of laughter here. Seeing how intimate they were, they’ve been dating for at least half a year. Xu Jianian has kept this well hidden,” the junior paparazzo remarked. “This relationship, once exposed, will bring him down since his fans are mostly girlfriend fans.”
“And the woman doesn’t seem very famous,” the lead paparazzo agreed. “But his fans are mostly delusional. Who knows if they’ll defend him? Let’s just take the photos first.”
The three paparazzi followed cautiously.
On the other side of the town.
In a small teahouse.
Si Fuqing held a large cup of sparkling water that Yu Xiheng had specifically ordered for her, looking very cheerful.
Yu Xiheng continued to drink tea, “How was today’s shoot?”
“Not bad,” Si Fuqing rubbed her shoulders, “I was climbing so much at the start, I nearly forgot how to walk.”
Yu Xiheng put down his tea cup, looking up, “Did you bring the medicine?”
“I brought it,” Si Fuqing said lazily. “I’m not injured, a good night’s sleep will do. ”
“Right,” Sang Yanqing remembered something, “There’s a fight scene tomorrow. Are you up for it? Director Tang has hired several martial arts directors for this.”
Si Fuqing gave an ok sign, “Sister Sang, don’t worry. I have to live up to your title of ‘all-rounder’ for me.”
Sang Yanqing instead said, “…better not live up to that.”
After a day of physically demanding shooting, Si Fuqing had devoured several plates of meat.
“Eat slower,” Sang Yanqing patted her back. “I haven’t used my cup yet, take a sip quickly, you’re choking.”
Si Fuqing took a sip, then suddenly paused.
She looked down at the cup slowly, expressionless, “Oh no.”
Sang Yanqing hadn’t realized what was happening when she saw Si Fuqing stand up, walk to a corner, and then squat down facing the wall.
“What’s going on with you?” Sang Yanqing was confused. “Why are you squatting down all of a sudden?” Si Fuqing didn’t answer.
Sang Yanqing couldn’t pull her up.
Yuejian was very alert, “Is there alcohol in your cup?”
Sang Yanqing paused, “It might be fruit wine. Is Qingqing allergic to alcohol? She never told me, I have to remember this.”
“We’re in trouble,” Yuejian held his forehead. “We better inform the teahouse owner in advance. Once she’s done squatting, this place is going to get torn apart.”
If it were just an alcohol allergy, that would be one thing.
But when Si Fuqing drinks, those around her suffer.
She had experienced it firsthand.
After drinking, even the combined efforts of her elder and second senior brothers couldn’t hold back their little junior sister.
In the end, their master had to intervene and knock the little junior sister unconscious.
Sang Yanqing:
Before she could grasp the meaning of Yuejian’s words, Yu Xiheng approached Si Fuqing in his wheelchair.
He reached out to her, his voice cool and gentle, “Still a radish?”
“No, not a radish today,” Si Fuqing hugged her legs, curling into a small ball, seriously correcting him, “Today, I’m a cabbage.”
“Oh?” Yu Xiheng smiled slightly, “Won’t the cabbage go home?”
Si Fuqing hesitated, hugging herself tighter, “Then it would get eaten.”
The air suddenly grew quiet.
Yuejian raised an eyebrow.
Her little junior sister didn’t immediately resort to violence?
