Vol.3-Chapter 69 – Relationship
After Ren Wuya’s death Yu Ci looked much more relaxed.
Only he understood what was going on in his head during these past ten years. He was finally able to fulfill his desire of ridding the world of this evil. He couldn’t help but relax a bit.
Although ten years was only a brief moment for a cultivator, Yu Ci hadn’t spent those ten years in cultivation. Instead, he had searched the surrounding provinces looking for Ren Wuya.
However, it was because of this search that during his travels with his two disciples, his state of mind reached a new level of comprehension. This caused his understanding of the grand dao to increase, and he unexpectedly broke through to the Dao Origin Realm. Once one reached the Dao Origin Realm, progressing was no longer simply about the amount of spirit force absorbed. Even with enough spirit force, if a cultivator lacked the understanding in dao, they wouldn’t be able to get past the bottleneck. Even if they had a large amount of spirit force, without the matching understanding in dao, the power they could display would be greatly reduced.
After killing Ren Wuya, Yu Ci’s mood was very good. He first thought about a few things before he looked at the crowd. He noticed that they were all still immersed in the shock of what had happened. Seeing this, Yu Ci subconsciously smiled.
Yu Ci’s gaze swiftly moved to the surrounding mountains and his expression changed. “All of you backup a little. This place of extreme yin is a treasure for corpse cultivators. I’m going to destroy this place today so that no one else can use it for evil.”
The moment he finished speaking, those cultivators quickly retreated. None of them dared to not listen. They all excitedly stared at Taoist Yu Ci, curious to see how he would destroy this place.
Holding the sword in his hand, Yu Ci frowned and looked at the surrounding area in disgust. The sword in his hand shined brightly, and as it moved, the sound of the sword swing echoed softly.
Rays of sword energy filled the air. Yu Ci swung repeatedly at the surrounding mountains. The sound of rays of sword energy flying though the sky looked amazing.
A thunderous rumble rang out. Because all the rays of sword energy landed at the same time, the sounds overlapped. If one didn\'t listen carefully, it would seem like just one sound.
The cultivators watching felt the earth tremble. The rays of sword energy they saw contained a mysterious intent.
Sometimes it was as gentle as water, other times it was as tough as steel. This was the essence of Yu Ci’s sword art. It used gentle attacks and strong attacks to form a balance of yin and yang.
The moment those shocking rays of sword energy collided with the mountain, the entire mountain erupted into pieces!
Zhao Jiuge stared at this with burning passion in his eyes. He could only describe this scene as “the sword pierces the mountains and rivers!”
One of the surrounding mountains was cut in half vertically and another was cut in half horizontally. One shattered into pieces and turned into large boulders.
Even a long time after the rays of sword energy were released, the mountains all still moved as if they were alive. Rubble continued to roll down the slopes, and the dust kicked up by this attack was dozens of meters high.
Only now did the cultivators here realize how powerful someone could become. To be able to shake the mountains and rivers, to be able to change the world! They only had one thought in their minds: if they could reach this realm, they would have no regret in death.
The twists and turns of today’s event were something most people would never experience again in their lives. There was no one as strong as Yu Ci in the Yan Zhi Region. Even across the entire Hua Xia Dynasty, he was a remarkable existence.
Yu Ci seemed to be a bit worried and continued to swing his sword until he completely split open the four surrounding mountains. The surrounding cultivators could only watch him in admiration and envy.
Yu Luo and Yu Meng happily watched their teacher. They knew that their teacher was finally able to put down this burden. The two of them had been picked up by their teacher and raised since they were little. They had started traveling with their teacher ten years ago, when they were around seven or eight years old. They had also witnessed what had happened at the village and had followed their teacher on his search for Ren Wuya.
They couldn’t help but feel excited now that this matter was about to end. Only now did the other cultivators notice them. Now that they realized that these two were Yu Ci’s disciples, their gazes toward the two of them were filled with respect.
The red Yu Meng merely bit her lower lip in excitement, but Yu Luo’s face was filled with pride.
When the dust settled, Yu Ci withdrew his sword and looked around. With the surrounding mountains destroyed, the valley in the middle was no longer a good place to nurture corpses.
Yu Ci suddenly looked over toward Zhao Jiuge’s group and smiled. He raised his right hand and waved at them. He softly said, “You four juniors come here.”
Yu Ci didn’t act like an extremely powerful cultivator. Instead, he was just an amiable old man, his voice caring and gentle.
“Is he calling us?”
Zhao Jiuge blinked and looked at Pei Su Su in confusion. They didn’t know each other, so why was he calling them over? At most they had merely encountered each other twice.
“Let’s go.”
Pei Su Su nodded and there was a hint of panic in her eyes. When she was worried about Zhao Jiuge’s safety in the battle, she had used the Black Flame Divine Art, but she didn’t expect there to be a Dao Origin Realm cultivator here. She was now worried about this senior knowing about her Black Flame Divine Art. However, there was nothing she could do now; it would be impossible for her to play any tricks before a Dao Origin Realm cultivator. She gently supported Zhao Jiuge as the two of them walked toward Yu Ci.
San Wu’s expression was very calm, but he was shocked by the appearance of a Dao Origin Realm cultivator. He continued to turn the buddhist beads in his hands. He looked at Zhao Jiuge’s injury with a concerned gaze before walking up toward Yu Ci.
Yao Lufeng was filled with shock and felt fortunate that he hadn’t fled the scene. He would have wasted a treasure and missed an opportunity to meet this senior. After being called over, Yao Lufeng only hesitated for a moment before walking toward Yu Ci.
Yu Ci had his hands behind his back and looked at the four of them with a smile. Zhao Jiuge, Pei Su Su, San Wu, and Yao Lufeng all had different thoughts in their heads. They were all waiting for Yu Ci to speak.
They weren’t the only ones filled with doubts about why Yu Ci would want to talk to them. Even the surrounding cultivators were filled with curiosity. Peng Bo was very excited because three of them were people that had arrived at the Wind Mountain Villa with him.
“Senior.”
The four of them respectfully greeted Yu Ci, and Yu Ci smiled and nodded in response.
Yu Ci first glanced at Yao Lufeng. He merely took a glance, but just this glance made him very excited. Even his teacher was only at the Spirit Sea Realm, and only a few of the hidden elders in the Water Origin Cave were at the Dao Origin Realm. He no longer had that cold and cool attitude he had before.
After glancing at Yao Lufeng, Yu Ci looked at Pei Su Su. When their gazes met, there was a complicated expression in Yu Ci’s eyes. However, this only lasted for a moment and left Pei Su Su rather confused. But she was too lazy to care about it, and as long as the matter about her Black Flame Divine Art wasn’t found out, she was fine. This had always been a worry in her heart, and she had contemplated telling Zhao Jiuge about everything. Yet she felt it was too early and she was afraid that once Zhao Jiuge learned the truth, he would leave her in a fit of rage.
After looking at Pei Su Su, Yu Ci’s gaze moved toward San Wu. He still had that mysterious smile. However, this time his gaze lingered a bit more and he nodded as if he approved of San Wu.
The treatment between the three was obviously different. He showed approval toward San Wu and a complicated gaze toward Pei Su Su, while he only glanced at Yao Lufeng.
The people watching were confused. However, none of them dared to make a sound to break the silence and could only watch.
Yao Lufeng’s expression turned slightly green and the smile on his face disappeared. He originally wanted to create a friendly relationship with Yu Ci, but now it seemed like Yu Ci really didn’t really regard him highly.
This made him very angry, but he soon comforted himself. Perhaps it was because Pei Su Su and San Wu were both at the Nascent Soul Realm, while he was only at the Spirit Core Realm. It looked like Senior Yu Ci hadn\'t even looked at the Mysterious Heaven Sword Sect disciple.
However, Yu Ci’s next action proved his thoughts completely wrong.
After withdrawing his gaze from San Wu, he looked at Zhao Jiuge and the corner of his mouth curved up into an obvious smile. He carefully observed Zhao Jiuge up and down for a while before withdrawing his gaze.
The difference in treatment between the four of them was as clear as night and day.
After observing the four of them, Yu Ci asked in a mysterious tone, “You four find it strange that I called you over, right?”
The four of them all nodded and were very curious.
Yao Lufeng didn’t care about the jealousy he felt or why the Mysterious Heaven Sword Sect disciple had gotten much more attention from this senior.
“Senior, since the corpse cultivator has already been killed, why did you call us over?”
Zhao Jiuge couldn’t endure the curiosity in his heart.
“You all did a great job earlier, and the average person in your generation would not be a match for you. I have also gained a rough understanding of each of your backgrounds.”
Yu Ci nodded and praised them. This made Yao Lufeng very happy.
Before they could react, Yu Ci pointed toward Zhao Jiuge and said, “However, there is a connection between us, and I called you over to clear up this matter.”
